That's why we must get on this thing...Don't rely on anything.

It just occurred to me that because Senator Bayh came out against this catastrophe, it allowed Indiana Democrats in the House to vote for it knowing that it will not pass in the end, but they could still be in Nanzi’s good grace.

I wrote Lieberman, I figure Dodd is a waste of protoplasm but here is a copy of my letter.

_______________________________________________________

Dear Sen. Lieberman:

I am writing to you because on issues like the war on terror you seem to be a man of integrity.

I am urging you to reject the so called cap and trade bill when it comes up for a vote. With the unemployment rate in CT hovering north of 10% I don't see how adding another onerous, hidden tax will help us turn the economy around.

This is not "economic stimulus" it's economic suicide. If you tax energy it ripples throughout the economy. As it is inflation is heating up and jobs are headed overseas.

Please, please ,please I urge you to put the country's interest ahead of the fanatical environmentalists. The climate effects will be negligible, even if this were proven to reduce greenhouse gasses. The main reason is we'll be cutting off our economic activity while at the same time countries like China and India who have stated they won't go along with cap and trade will be ramping up their industrial activity. The main difference between them and the US is they don't have ANY pollution standards whatsoever. We all remember pictures of gas masks being worn during the Beijing summer Olympics.

So again I urge you to stand with the middle class of the country and shoot this turkey of a bill down with extreme prejudice.

Thank you for your consideration

I will be calling his office as well.

Try calling a local office (make sure you get a zip code from state first, and block your phone number from caller ID)

Or you might do what one FReeper does and tell them you will be moving soon and are considering their state!

FREEPERS: Please feel free to cut-and-paste, improve my prose, or edit as you see fit and send it along to your Senators!!!!

Sent to Sen McConnell, Minority Leader in the Senate:

Dear Sen McConnell:

As an Illinois Republican, I have few avenues to vent my frustration. Please accept this letter in support of your efforts to stop the Cap-and-Tax debacle legislation and get the truth out about man-made global warming (junk science) and the dangers of CO2 (a necessary gas, not a pollutant).

The following was sent to Sen Dick Durbin this morning via his webpage-email link:

Dear Senator Durbin:

You were kind enough to send me your views on global warming, climate change, and cap-and-trade.

After the very close vote in the House yesterday on cap-and-trade, several documents were revealed that need to be considered prior to any action on your part in the Senate. It seems that when any of these things are discussed, the argument deteriorates to name-calling, especially the term "flat earther". Well, call me what you will, but the scientific facts simply do not support the Al Gore/Leonardo DiCaprio populist theories based on non-scientific "consensus". The legislation passed in the House does not even address nuclear power, a clean resource that needs to be part of our energy independence.

Three documents came out VERY late in the game on this debate:

1) A 300+ page "manager's amendment" that was added to the bill at 3:09am the day of the House vote. Not only was this a voluminous add-on, it is a scary document. If you support it, and I hope you do not, please let me know how local governments will be able to afford the extra staff to enforce the new and very confusing laws. The bill also radically modifies international trade rules.

2) A suppressed and censored report from our own EPA exposes many problems with the theories and "consensus" of the populist (and now debunked) theory of global warming, and the true (and minimal) affect of human activity on the climate. The suppressed EPA report is linked here:

http://cei.org/news-release/2009/06/25/cei-releases-global-warming-study-censored-epa

(NOTE TO SEN MCCONNELL: THIS CALLS FOR AN INVESTIGATION ASAP!!!)

3) A report from the Chicago-based Heartland Institute summarized the Non-Governmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC) that attempts to use scientific and rational arguments to identify exactly what is going on in the climate and the true impact of human activity. The recently released NIPCC report is found here:

http://www.sepp.org/publications/NIPCC_final.pdf

The previous letter you sent me contains seemingly factual statements that now appear to be patently false regarding wild temperature increases in the next ten years.

Although these "facts" are wrong, the underlying research found in the suppressed EPA report, and the NIPCC report will help you politically. Why? Because the laws you are about to impose on us, if passed, will do NOTHING to improve the climate or greenhouse gases and will not change the global average temperatures, but, you WILL be able to show "progress" because the falsely increasing temperatures will NOT happen anyway - allowing you to take the credit for keeping the planet cool. It is a perfectly contrived crisis so that radical redistribution of wealth can occur on a global scale.

Now, I realize as a leader in the Senate, you will probably not be able to back off for even one second to look at the facts, and I understand that. But I felt I owed it to myself, my children, and my future grandchildren, that I did not sit idly by while, during the great recession of 2009, with the highest unemployment in my lifetime, I sat silent while this legislation was passed.

This law, and the concept of cap-and-trade, is not going to work, is not needed, and will do more harm to our already crippled economy.

All I ask is that you take an honest look at the three documents above, keep an open mind to the facts, and consider what you are doing to this and future generations.

We need a change in energy policy, but this is not one of them.

Sincerely and respectfully, NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
+++++++++++++
Please do what you can to stop this mess, or to steal a phrase from Sen Harkin, a "dung heap".

Sincerely,

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

JUST SENT TO SEN MCCAIN - WHO MAY STILL BELIEVE THE HOAX OF GLOBAL WARMING. FREEPERS: FEEL FREE TO STEAL VERBIAGE AND LINKS AND SEND TO YOUR SENATORS...I think Sen Lindsey Graham is next on my list. So far, Durbin, McConnell, McCain. Up for a contest?!?!?!?

Dear Senator McCain:

While you may have a different view on climate change or global warming, I hope you will take the time to look at the following letter sent to both Sen McConnell and Sen Durbin.

I am strongly opposed to ANY Cap-and-Trade solution, and we need an "all of the above", realistic energy plan, not based on mythical technology, and unrealistic expectations. You cannot legislate the invention of magical technology and completely discount nuclear, clean coal, and oil independence UNTIL new technologies become marketable.

From Sen Lindsey Graham - this is what happens when out-of-staters send in stuff to Senators. Each person needs to send stuff to their OWN Senators. Sorry, I will not be sending any more letters to anyone other than MY Senators which is a waste of bandwidth since I am stuck with Durbin and Burris (ethically dumb and criminally dumber).

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Thank you for taking the time to contact me. I appreciate the opportunity to hear from you.

Due to the large volume of mail I receive, I regret that I am only able to respond personally to inquiries from South Carolinians.

As we continue our work in the 111th Congress, I look forward to supporting our troops in the War on Terror, repairing our economy and creating jobs, strengthening Social Security, lowering the tax burden on American families, and making the federal government more accountable and efficient.

If your correspondence pertains to a scheduling request, please fax your request to (202) 224-3808.

Sincerely,

Lindsey Graham
