For the past five months, White House aides and friends of the Obamas have been quietly visiting local churches and vetting the sermons of prospective first ministers in a search for a new - and uncontroversial - church home. Obama has even sampled a few himself, attending services at 19th Street Baptist on the weekend before his inauguration and celebrating Easter at St. John's Episcopal Church.

A number of factors drove the decision - financial, political, personal - but chief among them was the desire to worship without being on display.

I guess he doesn't want to be observed facing East five times a day.

I hope Obama gets in a church that will teach hime what scripture says happens to those that want to divide Israel. And focuses less on black liberation theology.

You've gotta love all the transparency.

This person loves to be on display, He loves to inconvenience every day citizens, and doesn’t mind in the least putting himself first before the rest of us.

Maybe he is planning on having Rev. Wright at Camp David, helping his children learn the true way.

No way will the 0bamas be going to any denomination that preaches the truth of the Bible.

If he goes to a “Christian” church, it will darn sure be one of those “inclusive” (ie, apostate) churches.

The only church the loon worships at is the one with a big mirror in place of an alter.

Gads, I loathe and detest this joke of a human being.

That's rich considering the church he previously attended for 20 years.

I will pray that the church can actively help his spirit and soul, that through God, perhaps he can see the light and have redemption.

Not only that, but the that fellowship of Christians there will have a positive impact on him and help him change his world and domestic views.

Exactly. He’s just doing this because he can’t possibly be expected to actually attend regularly and it’s a gesture that he thinks will get the issue off the table.

I agree but I'll take it further: That it not focus on "black liberation theology" at all, NOR "social justice", that the Scriptures stand on their own taught by a faithful minister for the right reasons, to glorify God, our Lord Jesus Christ, not man.
