LOS ANGELES (AP) - After just five days, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is halfway to $400 million domestically, a box-office milestone only eight other movies have reached. If it climbs that high, the "Transformers" sequel will be by far the worst-reviewed movie ever to make the $400 million club. Critics and mainstream crowds often disagree, but "Revenge of the Fallen" sets a new standard for the gulf between what reviewers and mass audiences like.

I wonder if Barack Obama coming off badly, has had anything to do with the movie's popularity?

No question that Obama and Galloway (a stand in for the British Galloway) were both appeasing cowards has a lot to do with the bad reviews.

my thoughts exactly...but, hey, they were only being fair...they totally knocked Bush in the first one so by knocking bobo in this one, they are showing true bipartisanship...:)

How did the political correctness screeners in Hollyweird allow the scenes where the empty suit that “President Obama” personally appointed to take control of the special forces in charge of the cooperative mission with the autobots was directly responsible for the bad guy robots acquiring both the power source and the leader?

It wasn’t even subtle that Obama’s personal appointee’s interference in the military mission directly leaked critical highly classified intel to the bad guys resulting in massive destruction and death.

Yeah, that might have had a little to do with the bad reviews.

There’s nothing like a silly, loud, SFX-stuffed movie with a bucket of popcorn to knock all the Obamination-Iran-Iraq-Globull Warming-Capandtrate-taxation garbage out of your head for a couple of hours.

Just my theory. I’m going to try it out myself next weekend.

Saw it with the family on Saturday night. I was surprised by the amount of language and crude humor in this one, especially for the large numbers of kids in the theater. Also, the plot isn't great and you do need to check your brain at the theater entrance. However, the effects were fantastic with a lot of destruction which is why I went in the first place! It's a great action flick and I wasn't expecting a lot of Oscar level acting, so I wonder what the critics were thinking about.

“Those aren’t ideas, they’re special effects!”
“What’s the difference?”
“Get him out of here!”

I think it may also have a bit to do with the way Bay portrays the military. His movies pretty much always portray te military as the heroes they are.

The knock on Obama hiding out in the Midwest with the insistence that “diplomacy” be used to negotiate with the
bad robots was absolutely priceless! Hence the bad reviews!

And because Maureen Dowd probably didn't like the movie as well:

This is a teen boy’s masturbatory vehicle. Megan Fox has a very nice body, she’s a socialist whore. Please boycott Hollywood movies.

And yet socialist whores have always been my favorite masturbatory vehicles, except for a brief infatuation with IROCs during the mid 80s.

She’s too stupid to be a socialist whore.

She is also stunning.

Very few women are both hot and beautiful.

Ummm...... it’s a cartoon. Just like on TV in the 80’s. We just have better special effects now.
