Sarkozy urges Netanyahu: Get rid of Lieberman

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to "get rid" of hard-line Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Channel Two reported on Monday.

The Foreign Ministry responded to the report by lambasting the French leader for his "intolerable intervention in internal Israeli affairs."

Sarkozy spent a good portion of his meeting with Netanyahu last Wednesday discussing the composition of the Israeli official, according to the report. The presence of three other Israeli officials at the meeting did not deter the French leader from expressing his true opinion of the foreign minister, said Channel Two.

The French president reportedly told Netanyahu that while he usually scheduled talks with Israel's top foreign envoys on visit to Paris he could not bring himself to meet with Lieberman. According to Channel Two, this statement was accompanied by disparaging hand gestures.

Sarkozy then advised Netanyahu to fire Lieberman and bring former foreign minister Tzipi Livni back into the coalition, according to the report. Netanyahu reportedly told Sarkozy that Lieberman came across differently in private than his public appearances would suggest.

Mr. Sarkozy, France is being overrun by Islamists and going down the tubes. Let’s see whether you can figure out how to save your own country.

European liberals hate Lieberman because of his demand for an Arab-Israeli “loyalty oath”. They know their own Arabs arwe traitors within, but they are too cowardly to demand their loyalty. So they project their own self-loathing upon Lieberman. Cowardly people always hate the strong. It is the defining characteristic of the Left.

If the story is true, Sarkozy is an incredible jerk.

Israelis should break into song at times like this:

This land is Jews’ land,
This land is Jews’ land,
From Mediterranean,
To Euphrates Islands!
This land is Jews’ land,
This land is Jews’ land,
God gave it to Abraham! (through Isaac)

To the tune of “This Land Is Your Land” (Pete Seegar and the glorious 60s).

Getting rid of America’s LIEberman would be good advice as well.

>> If the story is true, Sarkozy is an incredible jerk. <<

Hey look at this, the "conservative" President of France strikes again, demanding Netanyahu replace a conservative coalition partner with some leftists. Sarko hasn't promoted socialists this much since a couple of weeks ago when he appointed Frédéric Mitterrand, the nephew of the late socialist president François Mitterrand, as France's culture minister. Wow, what a great leader for the conservaitve cause worldwide.

Ah, but Cincinna says it's all okay, cuz you know, we just have to view this with the "context of French culture". Hey, wait a minute, I coulda sworn "the people" of France are extremely distrustful of handing over their sovereignty to globalist world organizations, and both Sarko and his predecessor suffered humiliating "non" vote on their national referendum to approve the EU charters. So why is Sarko constantly pimping the EU? Shouldn't he start viewing things within the "context of French culture" more? He's already mentioned in speeches that his pandering to Arabic isn't exactly popular with the rank and file frog electorate.

I certainly think Netanyahu would disagree with Cincinna calling Sarko his equal leader in the conservative cause worldwide. I don't even think Sarko's "conservative" credentials equal any of his neighboring European countries, which makes it all the more pathetic since the rest of western Europe isn't very conservative to begin with. The problem is Cincinna focuses on rhetoric rather than results. When Clinton said "the era of big government is over", it didn't mean the era of big government was over or that Clinton was a great spokesman for the conservative cause. When Sarko takes swipes at Obama for not doing his bidding, or talks tough against some dictator, it doesn't mean Sarko would lift a finger to actually do anything about it. My favorite was when Sarko "demanded" the Chinese stop oppressing the Tibetans or he would "boycott" the opening ceremony (not the entire sporting event, just the opening ceremony, mind you) of the Olympics. Naturally the commie Chinese laughed at the little frenchman and called his bluff. Sarko then tucked his tail between his legs and showed up to applaud the opening ceremony like a good boy. Even in neighboring Germany, Angela Merkel made a similar call and actually went through with it.

The little poodle Sarko is all bark and no bite, so thankfully Netanyahu will ignore Sarko's call on this one.

I wouldn’t call Kadima leftist but they’ve been atrocious on Palestinian policy. 4th place Labor is already in Bibi’s government, unfortunately. Kadima would be too but their “Tin Lady” Tzipi Livn pulled a Gerald Ford in 1980 and demanded a co-Prime Ministership.

Might as well name Abbas as your Foreign Minister as her.

Sarkozy should keep his mouth shut on internal Israeli politics...but then we don't do we? We have nothing but dictates and declarations about what our Israeli friends can do with their own territory and whether they should be allowed to defend themselves against genocidal madmen. The difference is that Sarkozy and this historically antisemitic and pro-Arab French can be ignored with impunity, but as Israel's only true friend, our meddling is quite burdensome.
