I'm combining a look at America's new regime under Oba-Hussein-Khomeini and that of Mullah Khamenei to let you decide if we are on the same road as the Mullahs, but a few steps behind.
The killing has not started in America but counter-action for foreseen riots and opposition in our streets has started. Some 80,000 soldiers are being trained in Georgia to respond and handle martial law needs.
And ACORN agents are carefully doing GPS suveys of all homes so that these or other outside forces, unfamilliar with your neighborhood, can kick down your front door at will, you "domestic terrorist", a citizen who believes in freedom and our Constitution or served in our military! Plus a million man civil security force reporting directly to the Obama House.
The final nail in our coffin as a free country with American ideals has been hammered in, as left wing loon Al Franken has been confirmed and will be seated as a Senator.

Even if they are ACORN thugs or part of the one million man “personal” Oba-Hussein million man Civil Security, brainwashed, fully army level equipped, armed and budgeted. Which is the full picture.
As a people we care about laws. As do the 80,000 soldiers in training for martial law. The One Million man force are brainwashed youth in awe of the Oba-Messiah and like the original Bassiji in Iran will do anything the Supreme Leader orders.
I do not know if you have been in or under a martial law situation, I have.
It does not take a lot of personnel to lock down a neighborhood, town or even a city.
You need occasional check points (often mobile instant ones) with orders/permission to shoot to kill if disobeyed and a few patrols. A few hundred people can control a large section of a city.
Remember not every part of every city is a problem point. In some cases controlling bridges serves to achieve isolating a large community.
Add a million man group of ACORN or Oba-Messiah type thugs to be given permission to shoot to control and remember that many if not most of the 90 million gun owners you mention are scattered across the country side and not in population centers where martial law would be needed, not in regions (like say in Oregon) where cows outnumber people - even if those people all own guns.
As far as the Constitution is concerned, Oba-Hussein has been pushing Secretary Gates to change the military oath to be to the President and not the Constitution! Digest that one. And apply it to the Civil Security Forces being assembled.
The counteractions to your thoughts have or are being addressed by the Obamaists. They have brains, just not scruples or loyalty to the American way of life and traditional culture, prefering Communism or at thvery least Socialism.

I was a non-Military American in a foreign country, inadvertently caught in a dangerous situation; I still recall the feeling of steeling my shoulders for a bullet in my back.

I have been under martial law in the recent Los Angeles riots. It required bringing Marines in Body armor from Camp Pendelton. And that was to just put down some illegals, racists and gangbangers. What happens when the people with the big toys start shooting and are joined by some formally trained military ?
That seems to be about to change as is is the two time limit on the presidency. Several Bills have been tabled to remove this restriction.
There is a complete take over/ power grab in progress that bypasses all aspects of the Constitution.
Already the 20 Czars in the Obama House who control/ regulate/oversee all major aspects of our lives including our economy, health etc., bypassing Congress or the people
