Jesus Fish/Darwin Fish

--snip--

Atheists use their Darwin fish to protest against the Christian faith. That they use evolution to counter biblical faith shows how foundational the issue of origins is to the gospel, and that church leaders who dismiss it as a ‘side issue’ have their heads in the sand...

Yes. And, as Plato said, “Lies are not just evil in themselves, but inject the soul with evil.”

Those who have based their lives and filled their philosophies with lies must be so evil and bitter and full of malice for those who do not feel the same. It's why Cain killed Abel. Able probably loved and wished well for his brother, but Cain could not tolerate Abel even to live; for evil cannot tolerate good.

It's the same today. Despite their claims of being tolerant, libs cannot tolerate goodness at all. It's the opposite for conservatives. WE ARE the tolerant ones.

[[I can really feel the love in this post. It feels like heartburn.]]

Really? Can you also ‘feel the love’ in the following verses?

“Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.’”
— Jesus Christ, Mark 7:6

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense, make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.”
— Jesus Christ, Matthew 23: 14-15

“But the fearful, (afraid of what ‘others’ might think about following and trusting in Jesus)

and unbelieving,

and the abominable, (this covers many sins including sexual immorality, homosexuality, etc.)

and murderers,

and whoremongers (’pornos’ ... from which we get the word ‘pornography’),

and sorcerers (’pharmakeus’ ... drugs),

and idolaters, (wanting or loving anything more than God-Jesus ... work, sports, music, etc.)

and all liars,

shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone:

which is the second death (Hell).”
(Revelation 21:8)

“Not everyone who says to Me (Jesus), ‘Lord, Lord,’ (calling themselves ‘Christian’)
shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven ...
Many (’most’ or ‘majority’) will say to Me in that Day (of Judgment),
‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied (taught) in your Name,
cast out demons in Your Name,
and done many wonders in Your Name?’
And then (at the judgment), I (Jesus) will declare to them
‘I never knew you
Depart from Me (departing from Heaven and into Hell)
you who practice lawlessness’”
(Matthew 7:21-23)

Better grab yourself a big bottle of tums if you think God turns a blind eye to blatant rejection of Him

"If believers in Darwinism claim it is not a religion why do they have religious symbols?"

Not sure. But how does a silly little car decal make anything a religion? Does having a an ichthys on your automobile automatically make you a christian?

I never understood those who believe evolution is incompatible with Christianity.

Creation via blind chance is incompatible with Christianity.

Almost missed your last sentence, was going to make the same comparison.

One thing you left out, like Cain did to Abel - the left, truth be told, wants to kill conservatives, and will do so if they can get away with it.

I am probably agnostic if I had to label myself, and I believe that evolution is largely correct as a theory to explain the diversity of life on earth.

That said, I think the Darwin fish is obnoxious and intentionally mocking. I agree with those who point out the inconsistencies of those who promote tolerance and support speech codes and such, but feel compelled to mock Christianity.

Historically, all leftist movements seek a group to villanize and portray as less worthy of rights and respect than other groups. The current leftist movement in the United States has chosen Christianity as their necessary "other."

Though relatively harmless in its own right, the Darwin fish is emblematic of both the left's inconsistency and inherent prejudices.

If evolution’s target isn’t Christianity, why pervert the symbol of Christianity “in protest”?

Excellent question.

Would it surprise you to know that even a YEC believes this? Post Creation of the kinds from which the diversity came from, of course... :)

I had a species of salamander that grew legs again and could reattach a leg. And, yes, I’ve taken collegiate biology classes.

I posted a photo of a fish.

The point I was making is that definitive missing links have not been proved

Then you must not have been paying much attention in your "collegiate biology classes," as that's categorically false.

The assembled reporters crack up into raucous laughter.

As might anyone who doesn't have a relationship with the Creator of the universe, etc etc. People sometimes laugh at things they cannot comprehend.

God created all that exists. That creation includes evolution.

Creation via blind chance is incompatible with Christianity.

That's all well and good, but natural selection is the opposite of "blind chance."

Does having a an ichthys on your automobile automatically make you a christian?

Does defacing a Christian symbol to create an imaginary quadruped fish that is supposed to be "evolved," and placing it on your automobile mean anything other than that the driver just enjoys mocking Christians?

Any comedian will tell you that if you have to explain the joke, it wasn't funny.

Seriously, commuting is aggravating enough. I wonder why some people feel the urge to increase the annoyance level of rush hour traffic by wearing their political and religious views on their sleeves (er, bumpers).

I doubt anyone has ever changed their opinions based on a bumper sticker.

So you think the Temple of Darwin promoters just picked the fish symbol out of the blue?

All right. What species have evolved to another species in the last 50 years? Since Darwin? What is your proof? Source?

What is the missing link for ‘man’? Proof? Source?

I am a Christian. While I don’t deny that God could set evolution in motion, I don’t ascribe the the presupposition that Darwin’s theory is anything more than a theory.

And just where are the great apes "missing link" ancestors? Do they have to find their own?
