State rules in favor of young transgender

AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Human Rights Commission ruled Monday that the Orono School Department discriminated against a transgender child by denying her access to the girls bathroom.

While the school department’s lawyer warned that schools around the state may not be ready to manage the practical fallout from the decision, civil liberties advocates hailed the ruling as an advancement of human rights.

Don’t call this kid “her.”

If it has (or had) a schlong and/or XY chromosomes, it’s a boy, unless there are genetic issues involved.

“Minor Student 2 was disciplined because his biological sex is male and his gender identity is male and he used the girls’ bathroom,” the investigator’s report said.

So genitalia is no longer the determining factor to gender? Now we have a so-called "Gender-Identity"?

What a complete load of horse pucky...

These days you have to ask, does this “her” have a penis?

hard to tell whether genetic issues are involved from reading the article, but Wikipedia says “Between 0.1% and 0.2% of live births are ambiguous enough to become the subject of specialist medical attention, including surgery to disguise their sexual ambiguity.”

if this child is only in fifth grade and having these kinds of identity issues I’d charitably assume he/she is in that 0.1% category? otherwise this child has very progressive parents.

WTF is a transgender child.

Do we now live in a country where CHILDREn are allowed to mutilate their sexual organs before they are even supposed to know what they’re for?

FIFTH grade? That’s 11 or 12 years old!

In my opinion, this child’s parents need to be investigated as possible/likely pedophiles.

Those 0.1% to 0.2% are clssified as hermaphrodites; NOT “transgender”.

At first I thought... herm? Too young for a sex change...

Also check this snip:

Hewey said school officials had the child’s interests in mind.

“Not only did they provide accommodation, a separate bathroom, that was the bathroom that the student’s health care practitioner recommended,” she said.

— Why does the kid have a health care practitioner?

Are the taxpayers paying for it via an IEP (Indiv. Ed Plan)?

Well it was my understanding that “transgender” is an umbrella term that covers everyone from cross-dressers to hermaphrodites (aka “intersex” people).

Wikipedia backs me up here that the term “transgender” as used today also covers these biologically-ambiguous people. (The pictures on that Wikipedia page are a bit disturbing though, so consider yourself warned ...)

My point was that if the Bangor Daily News decided it was impolite to delve into anatomical details of a fifth-grader, they might’ve just used the word “transgender” to describe this kid who’s already having enough trouble as it is without his/her genitalia described in a newspaper.

No, just ignore the ruling by this Politburo, and gather the parents of all girls, have them and their kids file separate lawsuits against the "boy's" parents and the Politburo on grounds of endangering their children and violation of privacy.

Because thanks to the liberals homosexuality, trans genders, bi sexuals (and they are working on including pedophiles and bestiality in this group) are no longer considered to be mentally ill nor an abomination against God.

How much longer before God rains his wrath down on them and those that support and encourage them?

Well it was my understanding that “transgender” is an umbrella term that covers...

a variety of mental illnesses.

These people need medical help, but instead, their enablers encourage them and set them up for lifetimes of misery and abuse. Pure child abuse of the worst sort.

All those stories about children with cancer, and their religious parents deny them medical intervention? Well, these stories about "transgendered" children are in that ballpark too.

I've told people who are supporters of the "LGBT" agenda that the biggest problem they have is the "T". More people have more trouble with that segment than the others. And the fact that too many of the public is too willing to find a "peaceful compromise", the L's, G's and probably the B's could get a lot of what they want if they'd write of the T's.

But they won't.

Below the high school level, it really shouldn’t be a problem IF a reasonable level of general discipine is maintained at the school. I spent 5th and 6th grades in an English language K-8 school overseas that served the children of English speaking diplomats, military, and business people who were working in that country. The layout of the school, which was a converted old mansion, was such that putting in a second bathroom would have been prohibitively expensive, so there was only one for students (and teachers as well, as I recall, though there may have also been a little one-staller for them somewhere in the basement by the faculty lounge — they definitely used the main bathroom at least some of the time). Anyway, nobody seemed to think anything of it, even though nearly all of us had previously attended other schools where there were separate boys and girls bathrooms.

On the other hand, at the high school level, when hormones are really raging full blast, it would definitely be a problem, especially in the average US mega-high school with practically nonexistent discipline standards.

Agreed. Though a big obstacle to the idea of “writing off the Ts” is that a small subset of the people who identify with the transgender group really are anatomically and/or chromosomally intersex due to biological circumstances beyond their control. These people can make a pretty airtight case in a court for being allowed to choose to live as whichever gender they choose. And it’s a slippery slope from there, when the next layer wants the same right — and by the next layer, I mean the ones who may very well have some genetic or developmental abnormality that isn’t detectable by current medical science, but which may very well become detectable in the foreseable future.

While I estimate that 3/4ths or more of the people currently calling themselves transgender are just muddle-headed attention/sympathy-seekers, who ought to be written off without hesitation (with the write-off effecting a miraculous “cure” in the great majority of cases), the presence of the other categories precludes a simple solution to the whole issue.

Bingo. With a small classroom / student population it is manageable. However, at some point there is a critical mass where the authority figures become “police” (ie clean-up after the mess) rather than some sort of leader (who would endeavor to lead the people).

Paul Melanson, grandfather of the boy accused of harassing the transgender student, also filed a complaint with the Maine Human Rights Commission, saying that not allowing his grandson to use the girls bathroom or the faculty bathroom as the other child did was a violation of his grandson’s right to public accommodation under the Maine Human Rights Act.

Remember the story last year about the grandfather telling his grandson to use the girls' restroom if the other boy was using it?

It's the same story. This is the same grandfather.

Here's the story from last year:

"District allows boy in girls' restroom"

To: Tired of Taxes
Tired of Taxes,

The following was my comment to last year's story:

Christian children should not be used as pawns to score political or religious points.

Also,,,What happens in California doesn't stay in California. It sweeps the nation and finally winds up in Maine.

It's time for Christian teachers in this school district to quit. Personally, I don't know how they can justify working there.

What are they doing? What example for Christianity are they setting when they open the doors to this school and its classrooms?

1) Do they kneel before God and pray, “Help me to be sly and sneaky today so that I can sneak a few grains of Christian morality to my students today.” If Christian teachers are doing this, then they are teaching by example that Christians are sly and sneaky.

2) Are they praying, “God, please help the students not notice that I am aiding and abetting a system that is utterly hostile to the Judeo Christian values that are universal for all men.”

3) Are they asking God, “Please help me to act in a lukewarm manner about Judeo Christian values so that I can continue to collect my pay check and very generous vacation, retirement, and health benefits. Please help the students not notice that that I do this for money. “

4) Do they say to God, “Yes, Christ spits the lukewarm out of his mouth but please don't let my students be nauseated by me and my example.”

Is it any wonder that so many Christian youth reject their religion within 2 years of graduating from government high school (85%). While homeschoolers stay faithful by 90% and more? ( Yes, I have links.)It is said that example is the best teachers, but what are teachers modeling? That Christians are sneaky? Sly? Lukewarm? And will betray their religious convictions for money?

Personally, I believe that example is not the “best” teacher. Example is the ONLY teacher! So?...What are Christian teachers teaching their students by their example? Answer: Plenty that is very negative!

If Christ would spit a lukewarm, fence sitting Christian teacher out of his mouth, I don't doubt students would be nauseated as well!

So?...Tell me. Will the job of true missionaries (that these formerly government school kids meet as adults) be harder or easier because of Christian teachers trying to use a salt shaker to spread a little Christian morality around? Answer: Harder!

The solution:

1) If you work in a Maine government school, get out of it the now! If you work in any government school heading in the same direction, do the same.

2) Or,,, If you continue to work in the government school, then stop being lukewarm. Get completely off the fence and get yourself fired!

3) Remember: Your own children and the children of your congregation are your most important mission field.

4)Work to start Christian schools in your congregations.

5) Once Christian schools are smoothly functioning in your church, take in as many non-Christians as possible, provided it does not overwhelm the culture of the school. Mentor the non-Christian parents. Introduce them to the gospel. Teach them sound parenting practices. Teach them how to create a Christ-centered home where learning is valued.

6) Work with others to organize a massive school tax revolt, and SHUT these government schools down! They are destroying the Judeo Christian values, morals, and ethics, upon which ALL freedom rests. All it takes is one generation and freedom will utimately lose in the voting booth!

7) Think creatively. Expensive brick and mortar schools are not necessary. With today's technology an excellent education can be available to all in home schools, “micro-schools”, one-room-schools, and through distance learning.

8) Work to form private Christian scholarship foundations that would give private vouchers to private Christian schools. Harvard has a $35 BILLION dollar endowment! We are a wealth nation. Every child wanting a free Christian education in our nation could have one! Christians could do this if they **wanted**! ( even every child in the world!)

Perhaps one reason that Christian education, and Christian scholarship foundations, are so weak in this nation is because there are too many Christian government school teachers sitting in the pews, and their ministers are too timid to offend them and their government paycheck ( a portion of which makes it to the collect plate). Follow the money.
