Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputies arrested one man and are searching for at least one other in connection with a secret pot garden bust that netted 6,100 marijuana plants with a street value of $18 million.
Acting on a tip, deputies from the Special Operations Unit's Marijuana Eradication Team discovered the hidden grow Wednesday about 8 a.m. off Hicks Road in the foothills above San Jose, Sgt. Rick Sung said.
As deputies approached two large gardens, they found a man tending to the plants. And they quickly arrested 24 year-old Jesus Ochoachacon, who has an unknown address and is now in jail on $1 million bail, Sung said. A second suspect, described only as a Latino man, fled and is still at large.
Sung said the deputies also spotted several shotgun shells inside the grow; however, no firearm has been found.

Awww man. There goes some state revenue.
The mexican mafia makes buku dinero ,, why transport when ya can grow it local?
Opps, someone was not doing their jobs in the first place.
My how when times get tight, people see the things they should have seen when things were ‘good’....
Oh for pity’s sake. Make it legal, tax the hell out of it, and no one will smoke it anymore. Taxes put the kibosh on everything. They did it to cigarettes, no?
Jesus should be able to beat that rap. He just needs to say he is an illegal alien who was hired that morning to do some gardening.
Last year (maybe the year before) these thugs hired by MS13 to guard the grow shot and killed an officer
People are growing their own tobacco now....
Last year in the same area, the cops killed someone who had shot at them while guarding a pot patch.
This area has a lot of open space reserves where people go hiking. The fields are often boobu-trapped. it is just a matter of time before a hiker gets killed or hurt.
Nearly $3,000 per plant? Is that even possible?
Two whole suspects. That's great police work.
One more reason that pot should be legalized, taxed, and brought out into the open.
