All right already. I won't call Obama a Marxist in this column. Instead, I'll point to some signs that indicate that Barack and Karl might well be soul mates. At least, they have similar attitudes about capital, labor and profits, er, surplus value.
Liberals, even those of the Marxist variety, take umbrage when you point out their ideological kinship with Marxism.
I suppose this dates back to the days when being a communist was tantamount to being an enemy of the United States, in that there was a global communist movement intent on -- and coming darn close to -- world domination. Though global communism has been defeated, there remains a strong contingent among us, whose nerve center is the Democratic Party leadership under President Obama, committed to obliterating America's free market.
Without getting into the intricacies of Marxist theory, suffice it to say that at the core of this political and economic philosophy is a belief in the historical class struggle. The capitalist (bourgeois) exploits the industrial worker (proletarian) by underpaying him and adding on unnecessary charges to the prices of goods and services, driving up costs to the consumer, and pocketing the profits.
In "Basic Economics," Thomas Sowell puts it this way: "Profits may be the most misconceived subject in economics. Socialists have long regarded profits as simply 'overcharge,' as Fabian socialist George Bernard Shaw called it, or a 'surplus value' as Karl Marx called it." The theory is that under socialism or Marxism, these surplus charges would be eliminated and goods and services would become more affordable.

Global communism has NOT been “defeated”, Mr. Limbaugh. It is alive & well in Central & South America, the European Union, central Africa, & SE Asia....as well as the US. Have you not heard of the Progressive Caucus in the House of Representatives? What about the White House?
Communism is evil and evil is never defeated. It lives on in other names....Cut of one head and it grows back two more.....The left must be defeated in every generation....Sadly my generation is failing miserably.....So Far....

Obviously they don’t believe that the government ever overcharges when it comes to taxes. To them their greed is never bad.
I dunno 'bout that. I think I must be the generation before you (66yoa) and half of us did what was right (worked, served in the military, paid debts, etc.) and the other half were hippies that are now in charge, so this might be a multi-generational thing!
Regardless, we're in this thing together. ;o)

Obama And Communists See Eye-To-Eye
From the Communist Party USA website comes the following statement on Honduras Crisis:
The Communist Party USA (CPUSA) joins with the world in denouncing the coup d’etat this morning against the legally elected president of the Republic of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya, by the Honduran military, in which, according to a statement by the president’s wife, Mr. Zelaya was threatened and beaten before being sent into exile in Costa Rica.
• The CPUSA denounces alarming reports of physical attacks by troops against the ambassadors of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua in Tegucigalpa, and calls for protection of all diplomatic personal; and, if the reports of the attacks are confirmed, punishment of all the responsible parties for this gross violation of Honduran and international law.
The CPUSA further:
• Demands that president Zelaya and other members of his government be returned to power immediately, and that the troops return to their barracks.
• Demands the immediate release of all labor, community and student leaders who have reportedly been rounded up by the army, and the restoration of freedom of the press.
• Recognizes that the Obama administration has repudiated the coup, and insists that President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton hold firm to this position, refusing diplomatic recognition and any military aid to Honduras until President Zelaya is restored to power.
• Calls upon unions and other people’s organizations in the United States to actively support our brothers and sisters in Honduras in resisting this brutal military coup d’etat.
The Communist Party is even using Obama’s position to make their case — and, it’s not a “military coup” — the Communists and Obama are both relying upon the same propaganda.
Most folks, that are paying attention, recognize Obama’s push to socialize the United States, but do you know what Lenin said about socialism?
Lenin said, “The goal of socialism is communism.”
I’m old now, and when I stood watch on “Freedom’s Frontier,” facing the “Communist menace,” I could never, ever, have dreamed I would live to see the day when the Communist Party USA and the Oval Office saw eye-to-eye. Sadly, it makes me think we lost.
I want America back.
So let me get this right...as a small business owner, I provide a service and charge a fee for same. If I make one red cent “profit”, which will become my “salary”, it is considered ill gotten gains by Obama. So I must offer this service for “free”, profit non existent??? And is he going to feed my family, clothe my children and provide for my mortgage???? What an idiot!
