Less than a week before Sen.-elect Al Franken (D-Minn.) is set to be sworn into office, a new national poll shows that 44 percent of voters have an unfavorable view of the former comedian and liberal radio host.
A Rasmussen Reports poll released Thursday found that 34 percent have a favorable view of Franken, who defeated former Republican Sen. Norm Coleman to win the seat. Another 22 percent are not sure what they think of him.
The poll revealed that Franken generates strong feelings among his detractors. Twenty-nine percent said they had a very unfavorable impression of Franken, compared with just 12 percent who have a very favorable view.

the only thing that matters is his poll numbers in his hope state. He’s not running for president.

They are voters that have been completely brainwashed. I made a statement that got me chewed on the other day. I said ppl in MN must be brain damaged. Well, a FR’per from MN flamed me big-time. Maybe I deserve it, but at least Texas has not elected a Frankin.

Truth is that Franken is your basic smarmy toad like person.
Entirely too many Minnesota voters are visiting the Indian reservations and chewing peyote.

Norm Coleman got in with 49.5% in 2003, a very Republican year. He was a little over two percentage points over Walter Mondale, a last-minute replacement after Paul Wellstone died in a plane crash 11 days before the election.
With numbers like that, you have to figure that in a Democrat year with a candidate who didn't die or enter the race at the last minute, the Dems would have a good shot at unseating Coleman whatever clown they nominated.

Who the hell cares. He’s there for 6 years and his vote counts in every freedom destroying, capitalism destroying vote that will come down the pike.

National polls don’t mean squat for a guy who will be in office until 2014 and will never be up for a national election.

lol - I think a festering boil is more appropriate but a roid is exactly what he will be.

I don't think he gives a flip about national polls.
Hell, he probably doesn't care about state ones, either, now that he knows he can rig an election.

What the people of Minnesota need to do is recall the cheat. I don't know what it takes to start the recall process but these people were cheated. If nothing's done about it and this guy gets a senate seat out of it, it will only get worse.

I always felt like Al Franken may end up helping the Republicans in the long run. Also think that is why you heard “quiet” protest from the Dems over the proceedings.

new national pollDoesn't matter if 95% of the country hates him. They liked him enough in crazy Minnesota to get him close enough to eventually steal the election.

#3. Right you are. He doesnt care about national rating as long as he wins MN. Besides, he has the job for 6 years.

34% favorable but received over 50% of the vote. It would require 77.2% of the unsure voters to vote for him in order for him to get to 51% of the overall vote.
4 out of 5 voters that had no opinion of Franken decided to vote for him. I can only see three possible scenarios.
1. A protest vote
2. A lack of common sense (voters)
3. Vote Fraud.
4. Any conbination of the three. Are there any other possible explanations?
