The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 33% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-five percent (35%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -2. This is the third straight day the Approval Index has been below zero.
A Rasmussen video report notes that 42% now give the President good or excellent marks for handling the economy. Thats his lowest rating to date. Thirty-seven percent (37%) say the country is heading in the right direction.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve.
Overall, 53% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance so far. Forty-six percent (46%) disapprove. During June, there was little change in the party affiliation of the American people and Democrats retain a 7-percentage point advantage.
Public support for Judge Sonia Sotomayor slipped following the highly publicized Supreme Court reversal of a decision involving New Haven firefighters. Voters are evenly divided as to whether or not she should be confirmed.
Americans are evenly divided on the climate change bill passed by the House last week37% favor it and 41% are opposed. Forty-two percent (42%) believe it will hurt the economy and 19% believe it will help. Most (56%) are not willing to pay more in taxes and utility costs to fight Global Warming.

Welcome to the downhill slide obama. You may get minor blips up or down, but the trend is going to be all down until you hit your ultimate floor.
I’d wager that if we rerun the presidential election next Tuesday, 0bama would lose by 7 points.
When you meet people who voted for that Piece of S***, tell them how you feel about their little moslem commie.
Ouch, that’s gonna leave a mark!
No, just ‘awaken” them through asking why they support/supported him..then ask them if they ARE actually paying attention to the “News” and if so, tell them the facts..you may get through (if even a little bit) to a few of them!..
Cool. My rating of 0bama the empty suit started at zero and is now in minus territory.
F.U.B.O.
Looks like you’ll have to lower that graph to include the negatives...LOL
And that’s even if instead of Sarah Palin, the GOP veep candidate was Meghan McCain.
Or just that dumb ass commie, that’s close enough.
Because they voted for him, that percentage will likely remain consistently favorable toward the commie occupant of the Oval Office.
One more thing: Dick Morris claims that the White House polls daily unlike any other White House, including the one he helped advise. Soon, I hope, most members of Congress will realize it's risky to back The One's agenda.
Regards . . . Penny
Now it’s our turn...Let’s all start predicting this: “Polls indicate that the Democrats in Congress will lose big in the 2010 election.” Say it over and over and over and over and...
Earlier this week, I was stuck with having a conversation with a Progressive. This person is Progressive royalty. Their father was a well-known labor organizer.
After complaining about the economy, there was the obligatory, strangely sotto voce muttering about “That Bush” and an even lower mutter about “That dangerous Cheney.” I said that unfortunately, both the Bushes were easily rolled by being convinced the country was at risk, economically. I then added that “These folks who are in power now are fascists!”.
There was _no_ retort. In fact, after that, the progressive actually purchased one of my products.
Anecdote, not data.
And what will/can turn this around? Nothing on the table right now. :-)
Obama isn't going anywhere for the next four years.
