A possible bid for the 2010 Republican Senate nomination in Kentucky certainly won't enable eye surgeon Rand Paul to rake in the mega-millions in campaign donations procured by his much better-known father -- Texas Republican Rep. Ron Paul -- when he campaigned for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination on his strongly libertarian-tinged platform.

Bunning is dead meat. He’s too senile to see it. He thinks by openly criticizing Mitch McConnell, conservatives will pour money into his re-election fund. If not other Republican candidate steps forward to challenge Bunning, then we might have to take a chance with Ron Paul’s son.

Ron paul Sr raised a lot of money too, but never garnered enough votes to matter.

Money is needed, but ron paul taught all that money isn’t enough.

Any word on whether Trey Grayson is ready to put up or shut up about taking on Bunning in a primary?

He is technically considered a candidate (or at least in the exploratory phase).

He’s been raising money from the typical suspects, i.e. party hacks. He’ll probably run since he’s a lying sack of you-know-what. Hopefully Kentucky chooses somebody more principled than a former Clinton delegate.

Go, Rand! By the way, for any that may wonder, he was NOT named after Ayn Rand.
