Palin to make announcement from Wasilla at 3 [will not seek re-election]
Politico ^ | July 3, 2009 | Ben Smith

Posted on 07/03/2009 11:40:27 AM PDT by Al B.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will make what her office is only calling an "announcement" at 11 AM local (3 Eastern) from her home in Wasilla.

Speculation is raging both in Alaska and in the Lower 48 that she'll reveal her plans regarding next year's gubernatorial race.

So much for today being a slow news day.

The senate would be the worst place for her to go. Very few presidents have come from the senate and most who go there end up being infected with Beltway/Lobbyist Fever.

Normally I would agree about the Senate being a bad place, but the idea isn’t to have her there for long, that is one reason Obama was an a exception, he wasn’t there long enough to be perceived as coming down with ‘Beltway Fever’.

My fave is that close-up with her hair down...looks like she might have been in front of a panel somewhere. Anyone have that pic to post? Please?

How about Chairman of the RNC? Although I think she’d be best served going to somewhere like Heritage Foundation and working on her foreign policy chops before running for Pres or VP in 2012.

The smear machine will be working overtime now. It was just a 9 to 5 job to this point. Soreass will be involved along with Barry’s other minions and the press, basically the same thing.

Wallace on foxnews saying it’s rather strange as her prospects to win reelection were high. He suspects she may be closing the door on any future run. I, however, suspect she may be opening the door on Presidential aspirations and needs time to get her campaign in order.

SarahPac has to report funds this month - last day of collection was June 30th - do you think that has anything to do w/ her decision? I want to know how much her PAC made in it’s first 6 months!

I just don’t think right now she can win 2012, based on just being the governor of Alaska.

I am inclined to agree with the first part but not the second. Obama had zero resume and he won. So we know it is not just a matter of resume.

Wallace sounds like he’s anti-Sarah - consistently knocking her. Another RINO elitist!
