She’s probably going broke defending herself against constant baseless ethics complaints.

“If she could take away the 60th Senate seat she would help more than Gov.”

Great point.

FWIW I admire her tremendously and believe she has the potential to be another Reagan/ Thatcher. Though she should get more varied experience under her belt. Perhaps the Senate is her stepping stone?

“And they would be the same people that voted for Obama”

Unfortunately, it also confirms it now for many Republicans and Independents who were otherwise willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.
In the case that she is doing it primarily for her family then that is good and understandable.

The media have successfully “Dan Quayled” her. No future. Shame.....

Gotta say I disagree. The media certainly has tried to “Dan Quayle” her, but she has 2 things going for her that Dan !. did not—she has lots of time and she has the ability to stir up a crowd and speak over the media.

From what I saw in some ways, Reagan was marginalized he was a “b” movie actor, etc—That said, he had been Governor of CA and he quietly and persistently campaigned and sought the GOP nomination unsuccessfully at least once if not twice. He spent years going around to small colleges and towns in midwest talking to the flyover country folks-—how do I know, because I was there. One other observation, he tapped into the youth which the occupant obviously did and I believe Sarah can do.

Im not writing her off yet. The future is not yet written.

Go SarahBaracuda!!

Being a governor of a state gave her credibility. A second term would have solidified that. Giving it up after 3 years is foolish in my opinion. She will still have a platform and she’ll be able to travel the lower 48, but quitting the governorship will confirm most peoples’ doubts that she is too inexperienced to run for president.

Yep.

Things are really looking bad for 2012. At the rate we're going, Romney is going to be the last man standing.

Have heart my Freeper friends....this is the best news I have heard in days......Sarah is answering the call, and doing it the right way....

She will now be free to travel the country and speak to all comers....she cannot be accused of ignoring her job as govenor, which is totally fine for democrats but unacceptable to people with integrity....

Have heart and say your prayers to protect Sarah on her very dangerous journey.....

It’s still waaaay early. It’s possible we may have a candidate that’s not even on the radar yet.

Whoever it is it better not be a RINO!!

Even BHO was on the radar (albeit a long shot) at this point following the 2004 election.

I'm afraid you're right. I've already heard people talking of "another Stanford". I think she will be making a BIG mistake!

I agree with your comments. I will add that she will be billed as a quitter.

The state will still spend money defending her against any charges that result from her service as governor.

She made a decision that indicates she would fold under the pressures of the white house and the dems will kill her with it.

I have not decided for whom to vote in 2012 because it's way too early, but her stock bottomed out for me today.

"Sounds like she wants to work on "national issues."

She can now devote full time to campaigning for house and senate candidates who support the former Constitution.

She has just improved, significantly, the probability of retaking the house and eliminating the 60-vote hangman's noose in the senate.

I think this is a good thing if she tosses her hat in for 2012. Sarah Palin's personality reasonates, but she has been constantly distracted - by the governorship and the media. I believe that she knows she must develop depth on the national stage. This will allow her to hone her skills, her knowledge, and her message. If she can be advised by sound policy wonks, she has a real shot. I like her.

Looks to me like she is heeding advice and her instincts. This is a good thing.
