My Time on DU and the Honduras Situation

Posted on 07/03/2009 6:46:26 PM PDT by big black dog

I signed up on DU and tried to intelligently discuss the Honduras situation. You can't start threads there as a new sign up, so I looked for threads that had already been started up and tried to comment. I simply pointed out the facts. These threads were pretty much avoided until I commented, but then the comments came flooding in.

These is a synopsis of the responses I got:

(mostly from leftist articles and not original thought)

-- The actions by Zelaya were technically not in violation of the Honduran Constitution because they did not explicitly call for an extension of term limits (never mind that that every other branch of Honduran government, including Zelaya's own Party knew what was going on).

-- The OAS, the USA, and European governments support Zelaya (what can you say, they are right)

I guess it doesn't matter that every sector of Honduran government and the Honduran people oppose Zelaya.

Honduras is standing its ground. Will anybody stand up for them.? Evan the Conservative members of the OAU like Colombia have turned their back on them.

That was your first mistake. The left isn't interested in facts; only agenda. And the left's agenda is anti-democracy. They don't want to hear facts, common sense or reality. They only want what they want when they want it. And if you disagree, then goodbye.

BTW, welcome to FR.

I tried subterfuge there once. I told one of their posters who said he was in the National Guard or something and he claimed on some authority some stuff that was an obvious lie to me, a 14 year veteran of the Army. I called him out on it and got promptly banned. In short don’t make your first post their calling out another poster for obvious falsehoods.

Somebody posted here the other day that Uribe of Columbia is trying to pull the same crap Zelaya tried to pull. Dictator for life. This seems to be going around in the Marxist circles. The same ones Obama travels in.

Thinking is too hard for those clowns. Many of us here have been reading up on the laws and constitution of Honduras and find that Zelaya was in clear violation.

I have an entire army of puppets at DU, including one that is a moderator.

When you know how they tick (and just how SCREWED UP their brains are) you can play them like a Stradivarius.

If and when the whole house of cards comes tumbling down, it'll rain down on them as well as us. But, they'll be mewling and whining "but we didn't know."

They're really that stupid over there, on the whole. Then you have the few who really do know what's going on, though. That's another matter. Vile nihilsts. In love with death.

Oh BTW, I was shortly summarily banned from the site.

Here you’ve got one little poor nation simply trying to preserve its democracy having to fight the whole world.

Colombia’s entire future depends on our trade. Uribe’s hands are tied and Obama knows it.

This is a preview of what is going to happen to Obama. The “world” doesn’t like it and wants to head it off at the pass. Too bad. They haven’t seen a military “coup” until they see Obama removed from “office”. It will not be pretty.

I once read a thread over at DU where one of the guys claimed that he doesn’t like Obama because, can you guess before the end of this sentence, he is too moderate. He thought that the health “care” reform was too right wing as it would leave it legal to have private insurers.

I lasted a day at that site about five years ago. I posted a few comments about that communist Italian whackjob “reporter” who got her bodyguard killed by US troops after she had him blow a checkpoint. I got the tombstone real quick.

That site (which, by the way I wasn’t aware still existed) is for children.
