Michelle Obama Bringing Glamor to Moscow (Shower Curtain Fashion Alert!)

MOSCOW Michelle Obama brings her superstar glamor to Moscow this weekend as she accompanies her husband on his summit with the Russian president.
But the American first lady, who has wowed publics in the U.S. and Europe with her easy elegance and charm, will perhaps face a bigger challenge in winning over a Russian public that has scant respect for women who grab the limelight from their powerful husbands.
In a country where a presidential candidate once quipped he'd sooner pack his wife off to a convent than allow her to dabble in politics, Russia still has trouble with the concept of an empowered woman behind the throne.

But when questioned about the U.S. first lady, Doletskaya becomes lively. She describes Michelle's style as "very fresh," as someone who mixes boldly "but in a very refined way."

I love how the media continually tries to portray Michelle as the next Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

Is that like saying or describing a flower as being beautiful despite the over-abundance of thorns being attached to said flower?

LOL! Her taste is horrendous and the media is foolish enough to think that we(women)would buy into that crap.
Well, maybe liberal women are stupid enough to...

I can't believe I'm hesitating to sew my own clothes again after taking a break for 2 decades.
I've been fearful that the results would look too homemade.

No because a rose is a rose. Michelle on the other hand -— well she is not my belle. Her fashion sense is lacking. The fact that the US ‘news’ media thinks it is glorious just makes me cringe

What kind of drugs are they using that make them think Big Mo is anything but a giant fashion mistake?
The woman (well, sort of) is graceless, moves like an elephant in the brush, and must be legally blind or she would never wear the colors that she does, which make her already muddy skin color look like dirt. But I suspect it’s all a reflection of her inner ugliness.

Confession:
I had this clip at the ready because I wanted to show my formerlyleftwing b/f about “life in a socialist utopia.”
He’s a couple (cough, **, sputter) years younger than me and I don’t think he’d seen it before.
I’m involved in a re-education project, here. Sweet man, but indoctrinated in academia. Master’s degree, even! Can’t understand why I am able to haul around my high school diploma (with specialized post grad type education, however) and PREDICT what is going on with this economy.
I can’t make him understand that these goings on these days and my predictions result from common sense. It’s rare these days, I guess. He seems genuinely surprised. But in fairness to him, he is paying attention. And attending a tea party tomorrow in Chicago!
As far as the link, it just proves that great minds think alike!

She made us so proud in England where she wore her poodle skirt to visit the Queen. That is also the trip where she previewed her sweater made of four clashing fabrics safety-pinned up the back, her wife beater tank top, and who could forget the signature belt under her armpits? She looked like a cartoon character next to the ladylike elegance and style of Bruni in France. By the way, is that a train on the back of her shower curtain?

Understood, but accordingly, it does not dismiss the fact that the media is and has been continually trying to make her out to be Jackie, much in the same regard as prior to the elections, they made Barry out to be the next John F. Kennedy or the like.
