Talking Points Memo: Palin Quit Because "She wants to spread Down syndrome"
Saturday, July 4, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 07/04/2009 11:18:11 AM PDT by kristinn

The liberal Talking Points Memo website, which is deemed a respectable political site by the mainstream media which regularly quotes from their articles, published an article last night that speculated Alaska Governor Sarah Palin resigned because "she wants to spread Down syndrome." Palin's infant son Trig was born last year with Down syndrome.

Amazingly, the article was published at 11:51 p.m., hours after the Huffington Post had issued an apology over a similarly themed article that the site pulled after it was highlighted by Free Republic.

The TPM article, entitled Possible Reasons for Sarah Palin's Resignation and Other Schadenfreude, was written by Wayne Francis, a self-described Democrat.

The article, which is meant to be humorous, takes a snide swipe at Palin and her son Trig in Francis' reason number four for her resignation:

4. She wants to spread Down syndrome. When, earlier today, Sarah expressed a desire for more "Trigs" in the world, I could not have agreed more, because Down syndrome is just too cute to be reserved for 1 in 800 births.

Another liberal website, Paliban Daily, published a piece by Chris Smith entitled, Sarah Palin’s Retarded Platform: More Trigs!, that mocked Palin and her son Trig in language eerily similar to the master race language of the Nazis:

That’s right. Palin is about to embark on a career of causing babies to be born retarded. Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, crack addiction, or a good old-fashioned kick to the pregnant tummy, it doesn’t matter to Palin. She wants the world to have more Trigs.

Other than fueling a greater need for social services, think how this could benefit Palin politically. She already tests well with the Retarded demographic, and also the Retarded Sympathizer demographic.

Imagine the world Palin is trying to create, in which instead of a superior race, Palin breeds a stupider race. 20 years from now, she’ll only be in her late 60s. She’ll be able to run for President on the Retard ticket . . . no doubt with full support of Retardeds, Retarded Sympathizers, and the Politically-Correct.

Next time around, when Palin is told “Your platform is completely retarded”, she will be able to say, “You betcha! That’s just what my constituents want!”

It's amazing what passes for respectable political dialogue among Democrats these days. Simply amazing.

Spread Down syndrome? Don’t thnk she can spread it, but it looks like she has done her part in identifying those who might have it.

It utterly disgusts me for the word “retard” to be used. Those who are less able than others because of a condition of their birth are often some of the finest and most loving sorts of folks on God’s green earth.

I wonder how well an article on, say, a “Faggot Party” would be received?

Your comment doesn’t make sense as people with Down syndrome are among the gentlest souls in God’s creation.

Average American will never know about this. Who is going to tell them? First of all people are partying this weekend so only big time politicos will be reading any of this. People on Fox News were asking about what they did to destroy a picture of Trig...FOX NEWS REPORTERS DID NOT EVEN KNOW. I think perhaps 2 percent of the United States knows about that incident and this less than 1 percent.

Best scenario:

Liberated from her heavy gubernatorial burden, Palin now becomes an political guerrilla war powerhouse, appearing anywhere and everywhere to raise holy hell against the enemy forces.

I am guessing these enemy cowards are terrified of Palin.

b. a person who is stupid, obtuse, or ineffective in some way: a hopeless social retard.

I remember a day when liberals were intently cognizant of the evils of eugenics and medical/genetic "hygiene" theory. I remember when they would be among the very first to vehemently decry any present echo thereof.

I guess that day is just gone.

If such liberals still exist, they are either too cowed or apathetic to shout down leftists openly, proudly and laughingly embracing fascist biological purity doctrine. Either that or they're too vastly outnumbered to be heard. (Effect is the same either way.)

If everyone in the world were more like people with Down’s Syndrome - the world would be a MUCH better place. They are the happiest people I have ever met. They have no dark places in their hearts, they are just simply good, and always have a smile on their face.

Just when you think we’ve hit rock-bottom - these people come out with stuff like this...it is unthinkable to me that someone would say something like this & be proud enough to sign their name to it.

Yes, you are right, but the sad fact is that the average American won’t know about this sort of stuff. It will get pulled from that website and most people will never know the lengths to which the eugenics pro-aborts go in order to eliminate from view what they consider subhuman and dreckig.

The worst of it all is that adolescent goofs like the authors of these pieces are not the real danger. Plenty of liberals share this same eugenicist/pro-abort Brave New World mentality but are smart enough to cover it up with fake compassion and caring all the while distorting conservatives as heartless. It’s the clever coldhearted ones we need to fear the most. They are now running Washington. And they hate our guts but they are smart enough to disguise it. The twerps who write the pieces linked to here are too dumb to be dangerous.

If Palin does run for higher office, or if she merely makes speeches on behalf of other candidates, she needs to read these comments, and say "this is what the American Left, the people who elected Obama are really like!". The republicans need to start attacking these people hard, and the word of mouth can spread from the rallies onward.

And GOD are those guys boring. Especially Gergen. I can't think of a more bland and predictable conveyor of tepid, warmed over, conventional wisdom. It's as if the guy has a chip in his head that prevents him straying anywhere near an original thought.

The people who write this kind of bilge are the same one who think THEY should be in charge of your health care when you are old and infirm and cannot care for yourself. No wonder there has been such a rash of incidents in hospitals lately where “care workers” are getting caught abusing their patients or taking photographs of them naked. It disgusts me.

They're just following in the footsteps of Al Gore complaining about the "extra-chromosome right wing". I'm still trying to figure out if he was insulting right-wingers by comparing them to people with Down syndrome or insulting people with Down syndrome by comparing them to right-wingers.

(If anyone knows where the full speech Gore made which included that line I would love to see it. I tried to find it but I only found the extracted quote.)
