Cherokee murders put local law on alert http://www.shelbystar.com/news/county-40171-chapman-cherokee.html
“The suspect, who is blamed for five deaths in the span of six days in Cherokee County, SC, is described as a white male wearing a cap and a days-old beard. The possible getaway vehicle is an older model Ford Explorer or navy blue minivan.”
The updated composite looks more hispanic.
Great Minds think alike :-)
What is the detail or profile of the victims?
Anyone that kills five people in six days in a small town, has to be a meth addict.
The First Three Victims
The first shooting happened Saturday, when peach farmer Kline W. Cash, 63, was found dead by his wife in their home, said Leigh Caldwell, a victims services coordinator for the sheriff’s office.
Blanton said Cash’s home may have been robbed.
On Wednesday, the bound and shot bodies of 83-year-old Hazel Linder and her 50-year-old daughter, Gena Linder Parker, were found in the mother’s home, where she lived alone.
“We’re still trying to determine if anything’s missing from there,” Blanton said.

The last Two victims where a 15 yr old Teenage Girl and her father , who were shot at the Father’s small furniture and appliance store in Gaffney, SC http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2009/07/05/coroner_teen_5th_killed_by_apparent_serial_killer/
Meth is a huge problem in the Upstate. Couple this with
a high transient population and more than a fair share of loners from the nearby mountains, you get the perfect scenario for bizarre crimes.
Thanks. I hope his next victims are armed and ready.
Investigators have released a sketch of the suspect, saying he is in his 40s, with salt and pepper hair, about 6-foot-2, and roughly 200 pounds. They think he is driving a silver 1991-1994 Ford Explorer http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2009/07/05/coroner_teen_5th_killed_by_apparent_serial_killer/
Guess that lets Bill Bob Thorton off, he has to be older than 40... say about 70?
Since Meth addicts act bizarre and irrationally, it would make sense that the serial killer would kill in the same fashion.
That guy looks like half of the 40 year old males in the south, good luck finding this one South Carolina.
I thought the same thing.
Very strong resemblance there. I hope Billy-Bob as a good alibi.

1991-1994 Ford Explorer Sport
I’m wondering if authorities can do a DMV trace on such a vehicle. A list of all registered 91-94 Blue Ford Explorers would certainly help police narrow their search...
Gaffney, SC is located in Cherokee County, one of the meanest locales in the entire state. I belonged to a National Guard unit with the armory in Gaffney. Local Guardsmen talked about selling moonshine and machine guns like they were exchanging stock quotes. To these gentlemen, “honor killing” meant offing the dirtbag who got their daughter or sister pregnant, usually after castrating him first.
It’s one of those `don’t let the sun set on your head’ kind of places.
The authorities here are checking every SUV and similar vehicle they come across. They have been running license tag numbers for three days. Actually, the suspects car is reported to be gold or faded gray in color.
We had another murder early this morning, but not related to the serial killings. Our small county has had more than double the murders in a week than we did all of last year.
I saw this guy in church this morning in TX.
