About 250 people gathered on the steps of the State Capitol at noon Saturday to celebrate the Nationwide Independence Day Tea Party, a protest rally being held around the country.
Organizers handed out pocket copies of the Constitution. Speakers criticized President Obamas economic policies and what they see as the far lefts goal to increase the size of government, along with their taxes.
One mans sign Liberty Over Tyranny won a vote of applause as the crowds favorite.
In April, the same tea-party group had gathered at the Capitol with the same message.
Multiply media crowd estimates by 5 or 10 in almost all cases regarding conservative issues.
Yeah, tea party rallies have been real effective.
-—NOT!!!!!!
250 isn’t that big a crowd for the nations capital.
Where?.........
750 in Hartford yesterday
When posting about tea parties around the country, we need to remember to give the state name so that everyone will know where these events are being held.
I agree. Tea Parties are not going to be a national movement when there are only a few cities around the country that are drawing thousands. Only when every tea party gathers thousands will it be truly considered a promising “movement”. I’m hoping the one in DC will change things.
You need to learn some manners, noob!

sorry, the tea party was at the Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln. A good turn out, good music by local musician Gary Redden who composes his own patriotic songs
