I think Palin is about as middle of the road as one can get. She has strong patriotic beliefs, but they aren’t manifested in radical ways.

We both live in California. I personally think California is much more Conservative that most people believe, and yes even Californians. Look, the California RP leadership is just a branch of the DNC. It’s as pathetic an excuse for a Conservative organization as it could be.

Conservative issues aren’t hawked by candidates in California. Thus very little Conservative momentum is achieved.

Despite this when issues are focused, California voters get it right. Those initiatives earlier this year were a good example. The refusal to go along to get along with more bonds and deficit spending was great. The refusal to sign onto the homosexual agenda for California is a another recent example.

If we had some good blood out here running for public office with $ behind them, we would turn this state around in four years. Alas, the RNC sees it different. You’ve really go to ask yourself why. I sure as hell don’t get it.

Your collaboration comment is spot on. McCain was the end of the road for me. If the RP is going to put trash like that up for me to salute, they and their candidate can go to hell.

I was responding to your post #106, which seemed to me to be in defence of beckett. I wondered if you might change your mind after reading what he had to say about this site and its members.

I was interested because I do value your opinions.

Actually, a "winner" would have gone on all the morning shows and taken the questions head-on making the TV pundits gag on their self-satisfaction. What a concept, huh? Come on, at least try to use your brain. Twitter and Face Book: communication of champions!! Give me a break. As for Kristol, just because you're ignorant of any "evidence" of his support, means nothing. He was talking up this "incredible Governor from Alaska" on FOX, a full year before the nomination and reports I read said he met several times with McCain to get him to consider her. No one in the McCain camp knew Alaska had a governor.

She does things unconventionally, as did for example Ronald Reagan and Lady Thatcher when they ran, and it won them high office. That is a sign of strength and guts. Naysayers do things conventionally and then gripe at those that who do not. Rush Limbaugh had his road to success the unconventional way. He now has 20 million listeners a week. I call those naysayers life's losers. They have very little imagination. They see what cannot be done, not what can be achieved.

Sarah Palin has been taking chances most of her life, and she has won more than she has lost. It's called guts and courage. She didn't quote Douglass MacArthur by accident. Take another direction to succeed. He said, "I shall return." The meaning is clear. That is the language of a fighter.

I would bypass the chattering elite snobbish morning chattering class too. They are losing audiences anyway. No one cares what they think. Palin gave them a big FU. And good for her.

You are going to have to back up and prove that statement about Kristol supporting Palin a full year before her VP nomination (that would be August 2007, a mere four months after McLame's official announcement). There is no evidence of it, and most especially that he single-handedly got her nominated." He did predict on the morning of the announcement that she would be the choice, maybe a few months before dropped her name as a contender, but that's about it.

Drop your inane, childish insults.

This is what I think as well. She was the surprise girl, the unknown appointed by McCain.

Now she wants to slug her way to the top and score all the points (the crowds, the enthusiasm, her supported candidates being elected, etc.) on her own.

She’s the only viable Republican candidate... People actually like her. A conservative with populist appeal!

Look, if we could point to guys like Carter, Clinton, and Towelhead to excuse who we loft, we could put some startlingly bad people in office. I want someone with a successful stretch of executive experience. Under normal circumstances you would too. We can't change our standards just because it's our favorite son daughter. It shouldn't work that way. Yes, the Democrats are larva. We can't let them rule the day. And they just did. If you consider Sarah's plan to step down on July 26th a Republican victory, I don't know what to tell you other than I don't.

” The rules are starting to matter less and less in politics.

To support my thesis I give you the following:

A partial term senator and community organizer with the middle name “Hussein”.

Any one who thinks we are stuck in the politics of old is nuts... “

Well stated, and very true. We are in a new era. Barry O
won, and opened up any possiblities

but after Friday I am concerned how Palin will handle the pressures of the Presidency.....It’s going to make Alaska look tame by comparison.

No doubt. But we don't know what things will be like 'then'.

Right now, if she were President, the DEMS and MSM would already have burnt her at the stake, on the White House lawn.

Actually, I'm hopeful that this will be a continuing trend for our side. Politicians going wholesale directly to the public. It's a fundamental capitalist concept applied to modern media.

By bypassing the "middlemen" traditional media filters (almost exclusively controlled by the Left) and going directly to people's laptops, cellphones, etc. Sarah gets the message out that she wants heard with no cut up soundbites, filters, or Left-biased spin disguised as "news analysis" and the resultant distortion/perversion of same.

It’s just been 3 days...

And the pundits, on both sides, are doing a hell of a lot of work for her...

Once again, just because you know of no "evidence" doesn't mean it's not there.

And "childish insults" are the only ones I excel in. Sorry.

Palin is a younger politician than many who have entered the big leagues of politics. She has a new way of conducting her career, for which I applaud her. It may not be what we are familiar with, but I won't criticize her for doing something new. Heaven knows, we weren't successful with McCain's way of campaigning.
