Vice President Joseph Biden told ABC's George Stephanopoulos in an interview taped in Iraq on Saturday for "This Week" that the United States does not intend to slow its withdrawal plan in Iraq even if violence spikes after U.S. troops leave.
Asked what happens "if the violence flares up again," the vice president replied, Well, that's going to be a tragic outcome for the Iraqi people. We made a commitment."
Stephanopoulos then asked, "are we going to put our lives on the line again," if violence flares back up in Iraq, and Biden flatly said "no."

WASHINGTON: Vice President Joe Biden vowed Saturday that the United States will not put Iraq on the "bottom shelf," even as the US military ramps up operations in Afghanistan and crises rumble on in North Korea, Iran and Pakistan.
Speaking shortly after his departure from Baghdad, Biden told a White House pool reporter that Iraq's political leaders were "very concerned that... they would be on the front burner."
Biden said he responded to the worries by saying: "Well, you're not," citing his presence in the country, where he assumed a new position as President Barack Obama's point man on Iraq, as a sign of the US commitment.
"To quote one of the four principals with whom I met: 'With your concerns with Afghanistan, Pakistan, Korea, we were concerned we were moved to the bottom shelf,'" Biden said, relating Iraqi fears.
Walk softly, but carry a big stick, but make sure you let everybody know that you won’t use the stick.
Spend a lot of time talking about how you intend to make the stick smaller.
Spend even more time apologizing for even having the stick you assure everyone you never intend to use.
Now start negotiations.
As long as we are still there and our heavy equipment is on location, perhaps our folks could go ahead and dig mass grave sites all over the country, because they are going to be needed. Biden just gave the bad guys the green light.
Seriously, with that kind of message made public, we really should get EVERY single one of our Troops out, NOW.
We should then do the same with Afghanistan, because this administration is just going to screw things up and get even more of our Troops killed, before they publicly order a cut and run.

I believe that the Shias and the Sunnis and the Kurds will always fight, with some more mixed in. That was my beginning prediction.

U.S. DOE says: “Iraq’s proven oil reserves are 115 billion barrels. . .largely based on 2-D seismic data from nearly three decades ago. Geologists. . .estimated that relatively unexplored territory in the western and southern deserts may contain an estimated additional 45 to 100 billion barrels (bbls) of recoverable oil.
(2) A population of more than 30 million provides a big market in Iraq for U.S. goods and services.
(3) The Iraqi military is trained and is being re-armed with U.S. weapons and systems. This makes Iraq a future U.S. arms customer as well as a military force whose doctrines, tactics and technology can integrate with U.S. forces when necessary.
As if little liberal weasels like Stephie and Biden EVER put their lives on the line.
Their job is passing judgment on those who show real courage.
Just tell the enemy exactly what we won't do, just so long as they increase the violence.

Not to put down anyone's service, especially in Iraq, but Biden's son is a JAG and not in the combat arms. He's not exactly going in harm's way. If this was Vietnam, he'd be called a REMF.

During the ceremony 237 U.S. servicemen from 59 countries, including Iraq, were sworn in as citizens of the United States of America. At the conclusion of this solemn, undoubtedly moving and inspirational occasion, and in the presence of his own son Beau (currently serving in the 261st Theater Tactical Signal Brigade, Delaware Army National Guard), this is what the Vice President of the United States had to say: ”As corny as it sounds,” he told the troops, “[expletive], I’m proud to be an American!”

But if there’s one person, in one scenario, who should never, ever feel that it’s corny to be proud to be an American, it would be:
- The Vice President of the United States.
- Surrounded by hundreds of U.S. servicemen and women.
- Who have just become U.S. citizens.
- In a war zone.
- On Independence Day.

Nothing that comes out of Biden’s mouth surprises me. He’s certainly in the top 10 of Useless Idiots in Washington and there’s a ton of them in Congress.
