Ann Coulter Explains Palin's Exit
Women of the Web ^ | July 4, 2009 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 07/05/2009 10:17:12 PM PDT by SolidWood

I’m confused by all the confusion among the chattering classes about Palin. I thought her press conference explained it very clearly – though she couldn’t put it precisely this way without sounding vain, but it’s obvious.

Even though she’s just a state governor, she’s a HUGE national star who is both sought after and attacked as if she is already a president (a Bush, not an Obama). But she basically can’t participate because she’s tethered to the governor’s office up in Alaska. Consequently, she has to fight with one hand tied behind her back and she also can’t go around the country campaigning for candidates and principles she believes in – because she’s governor and would be accused of neglecting the state.

Meanwhile, the Lt. Gov. is a great guy, so she’s leaving the state in good hands and now she can go on to be an even bigger star.

It’s a weird Washington insider perspective to be perplexed by what she’s doing. Contrary to Mark Sanford’s e-mails to his mistress, no one was really impressed with him; 99.99999999999999999% of Americans didn’t know who he was. Who is more influential: Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge and Bill O’Reilly, or Tim Pawlenty, Bobby Jindal and Mark Sanford (before the fall)? As Palin said, God bless people who run for political office, but – and she didn’t say this part – she’s too big to be a lame-duck governor stuck dealing with fishing licenses in Anchorage right now.

She’ll be much bigger now and can play on the national stage without constantly setting off state ethics investigations by loons, parasites and liberals. None of this applied to McCain or Kerry – both of whom went back to the Senate – because their national campaigns diminished them. Palin’s national campaign made her a major star. As she said, she’s not retreating, she’s advancing in another direction.

Woo hoo! Double rules apply! This could easily be my all-time favorite thread.

I do sincerely hope to see her sworn in as POTUS one day. Sarah Palin is IDDG!

No surprise. the brilliant Ann Coulter is absolutely right on.
It’s basically an “Arcum’s razor” thing.

This is so right on. The Republican Party is a shambles, and needs an energizing force to bring it back together and give it some power.

This is precisely what Rush has been saying for several months now.

There is NO national leadership at the GOP.

Sarah brings it.

And Sarah will “bring it”.

Or "Occam's razor" for that matter.

Heh, heh.

Just watched Ann Coulter defending Sarah Palin on FOX and had a wonderful thought, President Palin putting Ann on the Supreme Court. :)

Fred Thompson would be great as a national leader.....Micheal Steele will do well once he learns the ropes...he is no shrinking violet...

but we need media.....

we need the very few conservative and America loving rich people to buy media.....local, and national...

start somewhere, but do it....

I believe the foundation of that razor is when all other things are equal.....I do not think that exists in this case.

I’ll call it Coulter’s Razor = exposing politics for what it truly is.

Great minds think alike - I was going to refer to Occam's Razor, too: the answer based on the fewest assumptions is correct. Gov. Palin has stepped down from the governorship in order to step up elsewhere.

BTW, there was some harridan on Fox this morning - the older woman who comments on the media ( I can't recall her name) - who was going after Gov. Palin hammer and tongs, just raving about how it was all her fault: she was poorly educated, poorly trained for political office, and Vanity Fair was right. She was so deranged she was almost frothing at the mouth. The anchor (that bland-looking guy) was really taken aback, as was I.

Ann Coulter has nailed it! The media must be dense along with some so-called conservative pundits not to understand.

I love Fred, but, seriously, he wimped out on us the last cycle.

The media will come through Sarah...we may not like it, but the press didn’t like Reagan, hence my new addage:

The amiable dunce is back, in a skirt and high heels.

she’s advancing in another direction...

I agree with Ann Coulter. Ms. Palin will recruit, assist and prepare new members of the Republican Party. I hope she asks me to help.

I wish Sarah could be President. But because I like and respect her so much, I really don’t want her and her family to go through the cruelty the MSM would bring on if she ran for that office.

She could still do much good from the “outside” for this country and even the world just by speaking out for conservative and righteous causes. She is a great influence.
