Hondurans Plead for Balanced Coverage from International News Media
Accuracy in Media ^ | July 6, 2009 | AIM

Posted on 07/06/2009 12:15:00 PM PDT by AIM Freeper

Accuracy in Media editor Cliff Kincaid today published some of the messages he has received from Hondurans upset at the international media's pro-Zelaya news coverage. He called for thorough, balanced reporting of events in Honduras, rather than acceptance of the ousted leader's explanation that he was deposed in a "military coup."

"The so-called 'military coup' in Honduras was a successful effort by Honduran patriots to preserve their constitutional system of government from an international alliance of communists and socialists backed by Iran," Kincaid wrote in a column published at aim.org.

"I continue to receive messages from Honduran citizens upset at the international media for their distorted coverage of the situation in the Central American country. The people support the ouster of Manuel 'Mel' Zelaya, who is considered a puppet of Venezuelan Communist ruler Hugo Chavez. They are mystified that an American president would want to return this Chavez puppet to power in Honduras," Kincaid continued.

One Honduran citizen wrote in a message to Kincaid, "Mr. Zelaya broke the law on several occasions even after the Supreme Court stated that it was illegal. He had no respect for our laws and our Constitution... And I hope the international media investigate very deeply. Send your people here and interview people from Congress and Supreme Court. Thank you again for reading our side of the story. We want a democracy, peace, freedom, and a president who doesn't believe he is above the law."

Kincaid has published a Spanish translation of one of his articles on the situation in Honduras, "A U.S./U.N. Plot Against Anti-Communist Honduras," here: http://www.aim.org/aim-column/un-u.s.-u.n.-complot-contra-anti-comunista-honduras/

Kincaid's latest articles on Honduras are available here: http://www.aim.org/aim-column/honduras-outraged-by-obama-chavez-alliance/ http://www.aim.org/aim-column/a-u.s.-u.n.-plot-against-anti-communist-honduras/ http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obama-sides-with-marxists-over-honduras/

I wonder to which leader the Honduras soccer team is loyal. My guess is that any pro-Zelaya members might defect while still in the (Zelaya-friendly) U.S. for the tournament.

If they want balanced news coverage, they should shut down more media outlets in their country.

At least in this country we have the First Amendment which guarantees a free press but the framers did not see it necessary to guarantee a balanced press.

Yes we do.

For no money you can start a blog.

For a little bit of money you can start a small newspaper.

For a lot of money you can start a TV news network.

If by "this country" you mean the U.S., we do have a free press. They are free to be biased, inaccurate and liars. But ultimately they are free.

If the media in the States is against Honduras, you know what side you need to be on. The media will do as it is told by our administration.

Good luck to our friends down south. The media hasn’t met a commie dictator they didn’t fall in love with since Lenin.

Have done some short time in Honduras.

The people have principles. They probably would be as poor if they were socialist as if they were capitalist.

The thing is, they are INTENSELY proud of their Constitution, modeled on the US Constitution. Several Central American countries are like them in this regard.

We should be ashamed that these people are carrying the torch for freedom while we have this commie creep in the White House, who has the nerve to bash the Hondurans for standing up for themselves as a free people.

To hell with the worthless American Press, and to hell with Obama.

Long live the true patriotic Hondurans.

The dictator loving news media is not in the business of providing balanced news coverage. No need to plead for them to do anything. Just stand your ground, fight the dictatorship and mob rule till 2012. It’s the only words of encouragement I can offer.

They should bypass the “traditional” media and take their message to the Internet where there is a bigger audience.
