WASHINGTON (CNN) – Emmy Award winner Alec Baldwin is eyeing a post-acting career that could take him off a Hollywood soundstage into the halls of Congress.
Baldwin, who currently stars in the NBC comedy "30 Rock," told Playboy magazine that he is seriously considering running for Congress. But he acknowledged his opponents would have plenty of fodder to use against him.
"I'll put it this way," he told the magazine. "The desire is there; that's one component. The other component is opportunity."
A native New Yorker, Baldwin said he has been approached by an unnamed Democratic law firm who wanted him to run for governor of Ohio, and he has also considered moving to New Jersey or Connecticut to run for office.

I watched “The Edge” on tv last week. I had never seen it before but it is a great movie. I say great because in the movie Alec Baldwin tries to shoot Anthony Hopkins but he keeps telling Hopkins to turn around and Hopkins refuses. Hopkins takes a step toward Baldwin and Baldwin steps backward and falls into a pit trap and a stake pierces his leg. Hopkins gets him out of the pit and puts him in a canoe and starts downstream and Baldwin dies a slow, agonizing death in the canoe before they get back to civilization. As I said, it is a GREAT movie!
I will be looking for a DVD now so that I can watch Baldwin die anytime I feel like it.

Don’t laugh too freakin’ loud people. Minnesota just sent that deranged idiot Al Franken to the Senate. If HE can get elected, Baldwin could too — especially in California.

It just won’t matter in 10 years. Unless there is a resurgence of Judeo Christian principles back into our governing and judicial bodies of government, it’s over.
The Reagan Revolution had the people wanting these principles returned to our government. It is why he won.
Can it happen again in 2012? Looking at my own 5 children, their value system and work ethic I am sceptical.
