CLEMSON The ACC has halted its plans to hold its conference baseball tournament in Myrtle Beach, citing failure to reach an agreement on the Confederate flag issue.
In May, the ACC awarded the event to Myrtle Beach for 2011-13, expressing a willingness to look past the NCAAs ban of predetermined championship events being contested in the state.
On Monday, the league announced it had given the event to Durham, N.C. (for 2011, 2013) and Greensboro, N.C. (for 2012), confirming a report by The State that its plans had changed.

Do you agree with the decision to pull the ACC baseball tournament out of Myrtle Beach?
Yes No
Your vote has been counted, thank you for voting. Our baseball committee and institutional administrators awarded the championships to Myrtle Beach with the understanding that the event had the blessings of all parties within the state of South Carolina, ACC commissioner John Swofford said in a statement. It has become clear this was not the case.

Meanwhile, Clemson should either get out of the ACC or refuse to share revenue with them.
Another example of the gods of political correctness running the show........into the ground.

ACC: all about being PC?
Hey, look, the NAACP is still beating up South Carolina over accepting the compromise THAT THEY WANTED nine years ago. And the North Carolina Athletic Conference is going along with it. Color me surprised.

Perfect example of the tail wagging the dog.
As a Clemson alum I’ve had it with Swofford protecting his golden goose UNC and his other favorites Duke and NC State. I want out!! This has as much to do with Swofford not wanting to give Clemson any type of home field advantaage as it does his concerns about the NAACP.
The root of the miscommunication was whether the NAACP had signed off on Myrtle Beachs bid for the tournament.
I know the answer, but what in the hell does the NAACP have to do with the ACC or the NCAA. This BS has got to stop.
This Bulldawg fan would love to have Clemson in the SEC to renew our rivalry and put you into a genuine football conference.
Spurrier is still complaining about he can’t compete with other SEC schools because of the flag issue.
Given EVERY state with a team in the ACC was a slave state (INCLUDING MARYLAND) Yes I know most folks don’t know that Maryland and WV, while nothern states had legalized slavery, but its true.
I find this whole thin rediculous, dumbed down populace who thinks the entire civil war was was about slavery and the 70 years of ever increasing animocity between federalists and states and industrial and agregarian factions and countless other factors had nothing to do with it.
