Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor got a boost on Tuesday in what is expected to be a relatively easy road to Senate confirmation when an influential U.S. lawyer's group gave her its top rating.
The American Bar Association's Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary based its unanimous "well qualified" evaluation on a review of the integrity, competence and judicial temperament of Sotomayor, a federal judge for 17 years who seems headed to become the first Hispanic on the highest U.S. court.
"When the Judiciary Committee hearings to consider this nomination begin next week, Americans will hear from Judge Sotomayor herself, and I have the utmost confidence they will agree with the American Bar Association's review," said Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Patrick Leahy, a Democrat.
Sotomayor is expected to win confirmation by the full Democratic-led Senate, perhaps overwhelmingly, to replace David Souter, who recently retired. Her hearings begin on Monday....

The ABA is left wing. Many lawyers do not join. Anyone have statistics? I am not adept at investigative googling, tho am trying to improve.

Unfortunately, this woman can’t be stopped. She’s a disgrace. RATS turn SCOTUS into affirmative action operation with dim-witted, racist judge. And the citizens are expected to respect the power of SCOTUS. Oh, no!

ABA Awfully Bad Analysis
The following is directed to Freepers who haven't signed up for monthlies...
is good. 100% is better. Let's go Freepers.
Monthly donorship is a good way for us to avoid having to do the Freepathons. Besides, it's a great way to pony up in style.
If you're on the verge of becoming a monthly donor or you think you would like to up your monthly donation a bit, has Jim got a deal for you.
Check this out. There's an added incentive for a limited time only. (Always wanted to type that...)
Thanks to Freepers who have been frequenting the Freepathon thread to ham it up with folks over there. It helps to raise the visibility of the Freepathon.
Jump into the Monthly Donorship special thread too. There are horderves, hot women with short skirts, and beer too. Alert, the pizza just showed up! It's a partaaaee...
Ladies, there were 15 lifeguards over there a few minutes ago. (I'm beginning to feel a bit guilty... heh heh heh...)

This woman is unfit to even have entered law school based on her grades and test scores...and her radical views are plain wrong.
Why is she being considered again?
Oh yes, political correctness.

Unfortunately, this woman cant be stopped. Technically she could be stopped in the Judiciary Committee. But that would require the GOP to grow spines, and we all know what the chance of that is.
So I have to agree with ya. The only question is what the vote will be.

It does not matter if you don’t know the Constitution or the laws. . only how you feel about them . . .

Chief Justice Roberts received the same rating back when he was nominated too, I believe.

I don’t have stats for you but whatever the numbers are are inflated anyway. the ABA packages its membership with bar-study courses for the multistate portion of the bar—join ABA, get a discounted rate. So many join soley for this purpose, and will eventually let membership lapse.

Scary that this member of the Hispanic Ku Klux Klan is going to be sitting on the SCOTUS
If you speak English and/or white...this racist will rule against you.
Embarrassing that any GOP Senator would consider voting for this racist
