Jeb to push for immigration reform (Jeb Bush and the Council on Foreign Relations)
Miami Herald ^ | 07/07/09 | Miami Herald

Posted on 07/07/2009 4:13:29 PM PDT by GOPGuide

Jeb Bush will be back in DC this week to present a Council on Foreign Relations-sponsored report on immigration policy that calls for a path to legalization for illegal immigrants -- a position shared by his brother, former president George W. Bush.

The task force -- co-chaired by Bush and Mack McLarty, former President Bill Clinton's chief of staff -- argues that "the failure to reform immigration laws and procedures threatens to harm America's economy, jeopardize its diplomacy, and weaken its national security."

The report urges Congress and the Obama administration to undertake a new effort with three central components: "the creation of a more efficient legal immigration system that responds to labor market needs and enhances U.S. competitiveness; a strong enforcement regime that secures U.S. borders and ends the hiring of unauthorized workers; and a program of earned legalization that will offer an opportunity for many illegal immigrants to earn the right to remain in the United States."

Why do I get the impression that none of these people give a damn about what I want?

This is another reason to keep my wallet shut, Chairman Steele!

I’m shocked. 19 replies so far, and not one comment about Jeb’s wife or children.

Jeb is trying to steal the thunder from the Dems on this matter. Read Dick Morris's Catastrophe.

I haven't yet, but I plan to. Does he talk about the fact that McCain's stand on the issue got him nada from Hispanic voters in 2008?

If amnesty is achieved, I can see no way it won’t destroy our country as we know it.

We're hanging from a cliff by a fingernail as it is. It's not going to take much to finish us off.

Indeed, he does mention such. Catastrophe is a very easy and informative read, one I would almost class as a 'must read', especially from an insider and toe sucker like Dick Morris. ;-)

I've said it before, the entire Bush family has a political blindspot a mile wide.

It's not a political blindspot. Jeb knows exactly what he's doing.

Globalism, liberalism and corporate cronyism is part of the essence of the Bush family. They come from Northeastern Rockefeller liberal stock, and they're nothing like the organic southern conservatives that they pretend to be when it's convenient for them.

I live in Florida, and watched this prick grab 65,000 acres of private property, then flood it with nasty swampwater for the Everglades "Restoration" project. He said he was doing it to preserve nature for "future generations," but in reality it was designed by his developer buddies, agricorps and lefty green organizations, all stood to benefit lucratively from the scam. The only ones who didn't have a seat at the table were the stakeholders themselves, who were losing their property in the process.

I could spend the entire evening going through his nonsense - his refusal to allow drilling in the gulf, his full support for shamnesty (even now while Florida is suffering double-digit unemployment), his sicking the state on a disabled vet who didn't want to sell his property for Jeb's green ambitions, his implementing "Sea Grass Awareness Day," his public comments stating that the GOP setbacks in the election were because they weren't RINO enough, etc. etc.

Jeb Bush is a green, shamnesty RINO scumbag, not someone who lacks political acumen.

Jeb Bush, another traitorous NWO RINO that should be relegated to the dust bin of history.

Morris is the most accessible and interesting talking head out there. He’s a lousy prognosticator (Hillary vs. Condi anyone?), but his insight is always top-notch and he’s a lot of fun to read and listen to.

I even give him a pass on the foot fetish, odd as it may be.

I’m looking forward to reading the book.

For once I agree with Jesse Jackson. Remember when Dubya was campaigning for his first term and Jackson created the chant: "Out de Bushes!" Two Bushes are far more than enough!

L.A. Latinos celebrate the Farce of July
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2286627/posts

Goodbye, Gringo America

It’s payback time for white America.

“America’s Palestinians” are on the march, chanting “Ahora es la tiempo por audacia”!

Thousands of Latinos are gathering this Independence Day to celebrate the Farce of July.

This annual all-day concert and street fair is held on Cesar Chavez Avenue in East Los Angeles - - the heart of the barrio.

The event is sponsored by the Aztlan Underground to uphold the claim that the Southwest portion of the United States had been stolen from Mexicans and Mexican Americans ......

Members of the Aztlan Movement and La Raza (of which Supreme Council nominee Sotomayor is a national director) seek to annex California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and southern Colorado into a new nation: Republica del Norte, “the Republic of the North.”

see Last year’s event poster

Sounds like a far-fetched idea save for the fact that the 56% of Mexicans and Mexican Americans, according to a Zogby poll, favor the reconquista.

The creation of a “Hispanic Homeland,” Charles Truxillo, professor, University of New Mexico, maintains, is “an inevitability” that should be brought into being “by any means necessary.”

But the “reconquista” won’t end with territorial occupation and secession. The final plan for the La Raza movement includes the ethnic cleansing of Americans of European, African, and Asian descent out of “Aztlan.”[snip]

This should absolve anyone of the delusion that Jeb Bush plans on running for President. Not gonna happen. He knows he’d never win. It also demonstrates that the Bushes have a VERY different vision for the future of America than do common sense Americans, than did Ronald Reagan, OR the Founders....
