Thanks. Two different places to be sure. No doubt your aware GP is lower, and affected by the pacific influence, with Bend being higher elevation, dryer, more snow in winter, but much less rain during the year. In fact is like 12" vs about 31" of rain...A dramatic difference, as Bend gets more of it's precipitation in the form of snow in winter. From what I have read and been told, most winters are not very bad, can be cold yes, but with only a few inches of snow here and there during the winter, and most of the time the the snow does not last long at all.
Is this basically correct?
We've been there a few times and it's just beautiful...I know their economy has been pulverized in the past 2 years or so....Of course they were growing by leaps and bounds, and housing went up way too fast, over heated, and literally melted down from what I understand.

Basically correct. The climate here has been compared to
the Napa Valley and checking climate maps, I can see why.
Bend is colder, dryer, and a lot hotter during the summer, plus it has been devastated financially. We like to visit
Bend, and that means VISIT, then we come home to the Rogue
Valley which is so different from the rest of Oregon.
The weather changes at Roseburg going north, from there up
you have the classic gray winters with a lot of rain.
