Posted on 07/08/2009 1:21:09 PM PDT by curth
The gap toothed Alfred E Newman looking bastard apparently feels that since he still has a job and no sponsors left his show that it is safe to start hitting up on Governor Palin again. Top Ten List From Last Night:
Top Ten Messages On Sarah Palin's Answering Machine Top Ten
10-"Hi, It's George W. Bush. Why didn't anyone tell me resigning was an option?"
9-"It's John McCain -- why did I call?"
8-"Mark Sanford here. Ever been to Argentina?"
7-"I'm calling from Geico to see if you want to renew your dogsled insurance"
6-"It's Letterman -- we still cool?"
5-"McCain again. Still no idea why I called"
4-"Hi, it's the dry cleaner. Having trouble getting caribou blood out of your Prada jacket"
3-"Hi, it's Sarah...oops...dialed my own number"
2-"Schwarzenegger here. If you want a job, California could use a new governor"
1-"Hey, it's McCain. Who would've thought you'd retire before I did?"
Here is the video , if you can stomach it:
He also told numerous "jokes" about her in his monologue :
Again if you can stomach him. The Palin stuff starts midway through.

Sorry, the transcript is enough. Letterman’s problem is simple: he is not funny anymore.
That sleazy SOB was NEVER funny!
Actually, that list seems in pretty good fun. I don’t find anything cruel or objectionable on it. Mostly, it seems to poke fun at McCain.
We can’t go around being offended by EVERYTHING involving Sarah.
He’s a unfunny, unflattering SOB.
Don’t see anything terribly offensive there, nor is it very funny.
Not worth the time to read!!
No doubt, Letterman is a bastard, but this is rather light compared to the crap her gave her last month.
No doubt, Letterman is a bastard, but this is rather light compared to the crap he gave her last month.
Always the sexual angle. Letterman's a perv.
“We cant go around being offended by EVERYTHING involving Sarah.”
Now that's funny!
I actually thought it was somewhat amusing, and he wasn’t offensive, IMO.
Anyone have his ratings, have they dropped?
Because MSM are gap tooth fans. And, the mob gap tooth plays to are loony, brainless leftists anyway. And the boss of the network is described as such as well. So, the lovefest continues. If any conservatives need a laugh bad enough to watch Letterman (who is really not all that) then shame on them - get a life.
The vile nature of everything said about Sarah Palin is truly disturbing. I can’t quite recall Jonathan Edwards receiving this treatment after his team lost in ‘04.
....and the irony is that if you hadn’t posted it here nobody would have known.
He is a vicious slimy little minded leftist whose opinion means NOTHING! Right, he is not funny!
wtf?? Have we entirely lost our sense of humor?
There is nothing offensive or inappropriate (or funny!!) in that list.
Gov. Palin is/was a national political figure. She WILL be satirized. Get over it.
Save your outrage for the really inappropriate stuff (like a few weeks back....) Getting all bent out of shape over this will only PROVE what the lib’s always claim ...
Well, CBS is still blocked from my televisions and it looks like that’ll be the status quo in my house for a very long time. Screw Letterman and screw his employer!
Not too funny, but nothing outrageous, really. Number three is the only shot at Palin and its not even a spitball.
The difference between this list and the previous one is that this list is actually humorous and doesn’t read like he just wants to slam her, plus you are right, it takes shots at McCain and they are entertaining.
What he said was not offensive, the fact that he just cannot let things be is offensive. Again of all the things going on in the world, if I’m not mistaken, Joe Biden let loose with several of his Bidenisms this week, why must he again put her up for ridicule?
If he had one ounce of decency in him, he could have just commented on her resignation and wished her and her family well. But he didn’t.
Other than the Mark Sanford jibe, those were all within the realm of common (if unfunny) political humor. We shouldn’t get our panties in a wad when this fool merely pops off at Sarah. We should hold our fire until he attacks her children. Would he dare tell a sexual joke about Barry or Michelle? About Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank or Henry Waxman? Of course not!! But we can’t stop that. If he dares to “go there” about the daughters or Trig, then, yes, we should contact CBS, the FCC and his sponsors, but not cry “wolf” every time he reveals himself to be a cad and a evil sot.
I am with Palin, hook, line and sinker. I find Letterman unfunny, don’t watch him and wouldn’t mind paying the fine for the privilege of breaking his nose,.
However... inn this transcript... there is no there, there. No place to go and she can take this stupidity.
Lettermannn is likely looking for more air... he’s under water and going down.
Letterwoman could floss with a ski-rope.
Who is bent out of shape?
Must agree with number 5; I didn’t watch the show - and never will - but, unlike the last time, the top ten were well within bounds for a public person.
At least he didn’t attack the kids this time.
Not yet. Last night he just dipped his toe in the water to see how hot it is.
That’s so true. I thought it was pretty funny, too.
Unfortunately, they've gone up.
O Rly? I’d read that in the short term when it was happening, they went up but most expected them to drop.
With everyone in reruns last week, and several still in reruns this week, the late night rating probably won't be out again until next week. But, before last week, Letterman was still enjoying a marginal lead over O'Brien in total viewers, with O'Brien leading quite comfortably in the more coveted 18-29 year-old demographic, for what it's worth.
I pity you, Letterman. You really are a classless asshole.
Was he ever funny? Not in my book!
The thing is, Letterman has already overstepped with regards to Palin and should tread lightly. His top ten list and monologue jokes could have easily been written to tease someone else. I’ll bet big money that he hasn’t ripped Biden or Zerobama in a similar fashion.
He’s a partisan hack and doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt until he’s earned it by mocking the left in the same way he’s gone after those on the right.
OK, #8 was a bit funny, but at Sanford’s expense.
The rest aren’t even jokes. Or they’re the jokes of a 7-year-old old. Really: the dry cleaner?
If I misread your intent - sorry.
Actually, I think they are pretty fun, come on folks, lighten up.
Hello, it’s Letterman, we still cool ....
See post 26. I am not offended. I just feel he should lay off her. If it was one joke, ok. A whole top ten list and several jokes in the monologue to me is a bit much and just shows that the guy will never learn his lesson and that someone must have held a gun to his head to get him to apologize.
I posted the whole list because it was posted on his site and to spare anyone who can’t stand the guy from having to watch him .
The HATE Show with David Bitterman.
He hates Sarah because he obviously never got the good looking girl. Take a look at the GUY he married haha. I hope the boy isn’t heckled because he is a BASTARD haha.
Adding the “haha” makes it comedy and immune from criticism.
What’s the big deal? Are we now professional outrage artists like the left?
Seems to be mostly silly stuff. Nothing degrading — and actually is kind of the sort of “tough satire” that the comics use against their hero Obama. Nothing funny, nothing offensive either.
He was definitely over the line with the previous vicious attacks. But this is nothing.
What "benefit of the doubt"? Is Gov Palin now some type of untouchable? Get a grip!
And, just so that you know what my position is on Letterman's attacks on her kids was - you can read my opinion here: David Letterman - Stalker & Extortionist.
