Palin's Peculiar Family Values (WaPo's Sally Quinn Rapes Sarah Palin Online)
The Washington Post ^ | Wednesday, July 8, 2009 | Sally Quinn

Posted on 07/08/2009 1:25:05 PM PDT by kristinn

...they were upset that their 14-month-old brother Trig, who has Down Syndrome, was "mocked and ridiculed by some pretty mean spirited adults."

I'd like to know the names of those mean-spirited adults who mocked and ridiculed her special needs child. I don't believe it for a second. I think what she is talking about is that she was criticized for the way she dealt with her pregnancy with Trig and her caregiving of him after his birth.

Remember, Sarah Palin is a right-wing, evangelical Christian for whom "family values" and the role of the mother are paramount. Many right-wing Christians don't believe women should work outside the home. Yet here was Sarah Palin, resigning as the governor of Alaska, for political reasons.

This is not putting your family first. We should not be surprised.

This is a woman who hid her pregnancy until the last two months, and who was so ambivalent about having a Down syndrome child that she admittedly contemplated aborting her child (wasn't it nice that she had the choice to do that?). This is a woman who took off in an airplane from Arizona to Alaska after her water broke and barely made it to the hospital to deliver Trig. This is a woman who accepted the nomination for vice president with a three-months-old special needs child (all studies show that the mother's role in infancy, especially for these children, is crucial) and an unwed 17-year-old daughter pregnant by another high-schooler.

SNIP

Leaving her job because it's better for "the state" or to pursue her interest in energy or national security is laughable.

Sarah Palin should live up to her self-proclaimed Christian "family values" and do what she says is the moral thing to do: put her family first and help those who cannot help themselves.

Quinn attacks Palin over her motherhood and her faith in soul-searing intimate terms. The whole article is a litany of intense personal attacks.

Given that HuffPo and several other left wing sites posted "jokes" about Trig within hours of the 3 July press conference, I don't think it's much of a stretch to believe there has been an attack or two on him in the last 9 months.

1. I suspect he’s using it as a turn of phrase. “One’s a lady who goes to church every Sunday and one’s a sinner” doesn’t have the same ring to it.

2. Paul and other New Testament writers regularly referred to all Christians as “saints.”

This is priceless.

Sally Quinn speaking of family values. The same Sally Quinn who as a reporter screwed her married boss Ben Bradlee and went on to marry the old man.

Gotta love a slut that spouts feminist nonsense while relying on the mattress mambo to get ahead in her profession.

At the risk of starting a war with the fairer sex (that I can not possibly win), I realize that the reason women - as a gender - are so disrespected, is that they have no respect for one another. A case in point is this POS journalism. What possible good comes from this? Will someone see this article and conclude that, if a woman treats another woman this way, it’s okay for everyone to treat women this way?

My favorite satirist, though a Liberal, Tom Lehrer once remarked:”If you can’t say something nice about someone, the least you can do is shut up”. Words to the wise.

Sally Quinn? Just another in a line of sooo many school yard bully’s trying unsuccessfully to bring Sarah Palin down to their low low low life level.

Didn’t work.... Again! Does it make them feel better about themselves? Maybe. But they are still down there wallowing in the mud at their low low low life level while Sarah Palin flies with eagles!

You go girl!

These attacks are beyond politics. They are the Culture of Death speaking.

One thing about liberals is that they are extreme in their pursuits of ‘virtue’. This is why they feel guilty about everything. Liberals go through life trying to be ‘morally superior’ to everyone. The blatant attacks on Palin’s family, rape jokes, sexist jokes, and all really show liberals’ moral inferiority.

These constant attacks on Palin are more about liberals feeling morally superior than anything else. You see, there were no ‘attacks’ on Trig. No! It was just people criticizing how Palin gave birth. Yes, that has to be it!

Liberals are so full of self-guilt that all these Palin attacks are really to bring her down so they feel less guilty.

John Edwards and his wife both hid his adultery and bastardization of family until the final leg of the political race; the media helped keep Hillary in a three way race for delegates. Sure helped Obama secure the nomination...

No! It was just people criticizing how Palin gave birth.

And the fact that she gave birth at all ("how she dealt with her pregnancy"). I believe I heard it being called "retard worship" by another scumbag on the news, clearly only an attack on her choice, not her child /sarc. Sally mentions how she thinks we should think it's nice Palin could have aborted, but the truth is that she clearly reveals she wishes the only choice was to abort; anything else burdens society to the liberal point of view.

"Sally Quinn? Just another in a line of sooo many school yard bully’s trying unsuccessfully to bring Sarah Palin down to their low low low life level."

I don't think that they're bringing Palin down to their low level, but they are bringing her down - or I should say that they have already brought her down.

Attacks on Palin, by the likes of this Quinn idiot and Tina Fey and others in journalism and entertainment has taken it's toll on Palin. It's created a widely accepted public perception that Palin isn't intelligent, nor is she competent to be president.

I'm afraid that Palin's resignation, no matter how justified or politically astute it may or may not be, will only embolden nasty little witches like Dowd and Quinn in future attacks, not just on Palin, but other conservative women. To quote Arnold, "If it bleeds, we can kill it". That's the position that many in the media will adopt.

It's going to be even more difficult for conservative men and women now, with their media adversaries realizing that their attacks, unfounded as they may be, can sway a large block of public opinion.

I'd like to know the names of those mean-spirited adults who mocked and ridiculed her special needs child. I don't believe it for a second. I think what she is talking about is that she was criticized for the way she dealt with her pregnancy with Trig and her caregiving of him after his birth.

Well, well...from Wikipedia

Her son Josiah Quinn Crowninshild Bradlee (Quinn C. Bradlee) was diagnosed with VCFS (Velo Cardio Facial Syndrome)when he was 14 years old.

It is the second most common syndrome after Down Syndrome, and does cause learning differences. Bradlee now has his own website, which was built by HealthCentral, a online health advice site, called www.friendsofquinn.com. It is a social net working site for people with learning differences; he has also written a book, with Jeff Himmleman called A Different Life, Growing up Learning Disabled and Other Adventures. It is about his life growing up and living with learning differences.

This brings up all KINDS of questions about why Quinn would rabidly attack Palin over "I'd like to know the names of those mean-spirited adults who mocked and ridiculed her special needs child. I don't believe it for a second."

Quinn attempts to pull the old worn out “hypocrisy” card.

I don’t even entertain this argument. I simply state that the “hypocrisy” isn’t what bothers them, it’s the existance of the values that bothers them.

And many liberals think mothers should be able to work outside the home without judgment—until it is one of their political opponents. Then they have no qualms with savaging them in the press. Funny, I don’t see too many conservative women savaging their political opponents if they happen to be mothers with children.

Is this what results from Sally Quinn's self-loathing, from having to have sex with a man old enough to be her father, in order to reach the top of Georgetown society?

Here she is with her crusty 87-year old father, er husband, Ben Bradlee.

I think she saw this movie one too many times...

This is a woman who took her children to the convention and paraded them on the stage, including Trig, (not in bed until late hours)...

Was this a joke? Quinnn was worried about Trig's bedtime? I seem to recall Sasha and Malia staying up pretty late, too. Oh, yes, and I think perhaps they might have been "paraded" just a bit. If I recall correctly, they had some gushing cover story in People magazine (after which Michelle then complained that the children were getting too much exposure.

These hypocrites who claim that Palin paraded her children around, thus exposing them to media scrutiny, ought to be ashamed. The hypocrisy is breathtaking.
