ETROIT (AP) -- Some members of the Detroit City Council say they're unhappy with billboards throughout the city that boast Colt 45 malt liquor "works every time."
The council spent part of Tuesday looking at ways to regulate such advertising after residents complained they were offended by the billboards featuring a cartoon representation of actor Billy Dee Williams.
Councilwoman JoAnn Watson says, "This is killing our community." Watson says she's worried the billboards are targeted specifically at Detroiters, calling it "an issue of racism and perversity."
Council President Kenneth Cockrel Jr. said he too had problems with the billboards but tempered his criticism by suggesting that the ads wouldn't go up if people didn't buy the products.
My only beef with Billy Dee Williams is that he betrayed Han Solo.
I think Lando Calrissian is the least of Detroit’s problems.
What's killing your community is moronic gov't officials who think billboard advertisements are responsible for killing your community.
Perhaps Obama might lend his noble visage to the next round of Colt 45 ads?

Somebody's drinking it, although actually I usually see only white college students drink malt liquor (cheap).
The only drink I've only seen blacks drink is Hennessy cognac. Back when I was at college, one guy on our dorm floor had us all try it. Us white guys didn't acquire the taste. That's alright, nobody wanted to try my whiskey. :)

The sad truth is that it is true, I have had a lot of experience with both Colt 45 and Schlitz malt liquors and I know that malt liquor has so distorted my judgement at times that I have let women do things with me that I can't even describe here.
Once the malt liquor billboards are down, unemployment will drop to 5%, the abandoned buildings will be renovated, grocery stores will open in the city, and people will stop killing each other. So let's get those billboards down.
One thing I'm unsure about though is if the removal of the billboards will allow the Lions to win.

I will admit that our Fraternity (at PSU) in the 80’s would have different taps running during Sorority socials whereby the girls would get the malt liquor and the brothers would get the regular beer.
The results were what one would expect.
