"Among other things, it was reported that the police apprehended a bomb-strapped car carrying two Lebanese on their way to Iran. The car was reportedly packed to the brim with explosives, field glasses, cameras, revolvers fitted with silencers, and pictures of the embassy compound.
According to reports Wednesday in Azerbaijan, one of the Lebanese defendants, Najmadeen Ali Hussein, said in his court testimony that he fought against the IDF in the past as a Hezbollah member and arrived in Iran in 2007 at the instruction of his Hezbollah commanders. From there he was reportedly sent to Azerbaijan to collect intelligence information on the Israeli embassy in Baku."

Do not be concerned, our President is familiar with Muslim culture having immersed himself in it on several continents. Including his Chicago home, neighboring Bridgeview, a town where several terrorist arrests have been made. I'm sure he's on top of it.

What is it with Iran screwing around in Azerbaijan lately? They sent this Hezbollah cell to attack the Israeli embassy, they recalled their envoy to Azerbaijan after the Azeri president talked with Peres, and Iran has in the past been accused of meddling in Azerbaijani affairs.
Azerbaijan borders the energy-rich Caspian Sea, which Russia and Iran want to get their (and only their) hands on. Azerbaijan is a Sunni state, and we’re back again to the Sunni-Shi’a war...
Khamenei and Musavi are ethnic Azeris and not Persians. Ah, the irony...or should I say Irany....

This cell was probably financed by some of the $900 million we sent to the Palestinians after getting their asses handed to them by the Israelis. I’m sure it all didn’t go to rebuilding hospitals and schools.
It won’t happen if only the Israeli embassy gives up half its compound for the Palestinian embassy. The Jordanian embassy, of course, need concede nothing.

Azerbaijan is Shi3a.
& they don’t care. Their closest ally & brother nation is Turkey, so they have no problem with Sunni. & Azeris are secular anyway.
They are good people & I hope they never get reunited with Iranian Azerbaijan because they will get poisoned.
