Cab Driver Cuts His Own Head Off In Suicide

A taxi driver has decapitated himself in his black cab in what appears to have been a gruesome suicide.

Police are treating the man's death as "non-suspicious"

The man, believed to be in his 30s, died in Southwark, southeast London, on Friday.

His body was found by police slumped in the car.

Police are treating the driver's death as suicide and are trying to trace his next of kin.

Officers were called at 12.40am to the horrific scene in Great Suffolk Street, where the car had crashed into a pillar.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "Officers attended and the driver was found dead inside the vehicle.

"The death is being treated as non-suspicious."

Officers are keen to determine if the dead man was a genuine black-cab driver.

Long wire tied around the neck, other end run out the window and tied to some stationary object such as a concrete pillar. Or loop the middle of the wire around neck & tie both ends to the pillar. Stomp on the gas... A bit like a wire cheese slicer only more horsepower. Could be other ways I guess.

In London, the men who drive the black cabs are extremely knowledgeable about London’s complex maze of streets. They take a rigorous examination on the street geography. Most of them are so good they could find any street in Greater London long before the advent of GPSs. But of course there are frauds who also drive black cabs and don’t take an exam, aren’t licensed, and aren’t knowledgeable.

So when someone is referred to as a black cab driver, it doesn’t refer to his race.

Theory: Tie one end of the rope to a lamp post, and the other end to your neck. Get in the cab and floor it.

I appreciate your being helpful but I was making a joke... I know you don’t capitalize the word Black if you’re talking about the color black unless, of course it’s at the beginning of a sentence or maybe if you’re describing 1/2 of the President’s heritage.

It isn’t a reference to the actual color the cab was painted. It’s a type of hackney
that’s referred to as a “black cab” even if the actual color isn’t black.

Before someone loads you up with too much information, it’s a particular cab company. Kind of like Yellow Cab in the U.S. Or Black President.
