Obama Surgeon General Pick Regina Benjamin Wanted Docs to Learn Abortions
Washington, DC -- President Barack Obama named Alabama physician Regina Benjamin as the next Surgeon General of the United States. Benjamin is an African-American doctor who is known for rebuilding her medical clinic after it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and then ravaged by fire in 2006.
However, Benjamin has also urged that future physicians be trained to learn how to perform abortions.

I’d need to know more. I tend to believe even pro-life OB/GYNs should know how to perform the extremely rare “truly life-saving” abortion, i.e., where the continuation of the pregnancy is likely to kill the mother and there is no other option. But again, those are extremely rare.
The natural inference is that the nominee wanted docs to learn abortions for the sake of routine “birth control.”

Today the govt worries not just if kids are masturbating enough, and masturbating properly, but also if doctors are trained in doing emergency abortions -- in planes, trains, automobiles, airports, bus stations, stadiums,..
Any Doctor that performs an abortion except to protect the Mother’s life has gone against his hippocratic oath and should have his license taken away. That being said, I’m sure that this quack from Alabama will urge Dr’s to perform euthanasia on ANYONE with ANY affliction that will not be of future benefit to BO’s Marxist regime.

She's: Catholic; a board member of the Catholic Health Association of the US; received the papal honor Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice from Pope Benedict XVI; received the National Caring Award; says the Church was always a very important part of my life; says she is carrying on the healing ministry of Christ; etc.
And on the other hand:
She is on the board of directors of Physicians for Human Rights, which promotes the performing of abortions in other nations and has called for the US to ratify the CEDAW treaty.
We need more information on her.
I am really ill now.

She’s going to force people to perform abortions? These RATS stop at NOTHING. Where can I find that? I want to forward it to my stupid liberal brother.
It would be hilarious to see them try to defend a ban like that. It would have to go something like: the “right to privacy” has limits—killing your baby is obviously protected, but God forbid you test its sexual orientation first.
I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting Dr. Benjamin while we were both enjoying some shooting sport at Barnsley Gardens in Georgia...
The doctor and I may disagree on the need for all doctors being competent to perform abortions — but I would still regard her as probably the BEST candidate for ANY office Obama has put forward to date — barring NONE...
After our very brief encounter - members of my family decided she deserved their help in rebuilding and expanding her clinic..
This doctor walks the walk.....carries more than her share of the load and is the real deal.
I liked and respected her IMMEDIATELY.
She is what she is and we would be lucky to have her.

Sounds like the Church isn’t CURRENTLY a very important part of her life.
Is she saying that doctors should work for free, or that they should just take a salary and not make any profit from the office? That's a good way to get the doctor to decide to knock off at 2pm every day if they are making enough to cover the rent and government approved salary with only 5 hours of work a day. Think of it as a government bailout for golf courses.
Also, the Obama administration have physician owned for profit hospitals and medical centers in its sights. They will probably be hammered or at least severly regulated to prevent doctors referring patients to clinics the doctor is a part owner of. Can't have Dr. Smith refer you to Smith's Medical Imaging, Smith's Blood Lab and Smith's 30 Minute Kidney Rotation Clinic.
If this president is very comfortable with late stage abortions, where will this lead to and how far will it go? Will the next “culling of the herd” victims be senior citizens, who have “outlived their usefulness, and can no longer contribute to the common good?” And then on to the disabled, “who are a drain on society and costly?” This is the ugly outlook of this president toward those of us who don’t fit the picture of his utopia. Obama is dangerous and his socialist plans for our country must be stopped.
These people do not seem to understand that profit is the reward that people earn for creating jobs.

Despite whatever Obama says (ie. that he favors fewer abortions), one must watch what he actually does to determine the truth. In his case, voting for partial birth abortion, refusing to vote against live birth abortions, providing federal funds for abortions here and abroad, supporting the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA - the most radical pro-abortion legislation imaginable, which he will sign if it is sent to him), and now this pick all confirm him as radically pro abortion acrois the board, and at any time.

Shakes head in disgust. Pope Benedict did something similar with someone else a short time back. Something about people who were excommunicated. (Sorry - brain is fuzzy with 2 anti-allergy medications. Otherwise, I'd ordinarily be able to remember.) With a little bit of research, he could avoid these embarrassing situations. Don't his lackeys have access to the internet? Would Pope Benedict ordinarily bestow an honor upon a pro-abortion doctor? If you or I can find out this information in seconds, why can't he or his lackeys?
