Chris Parry of the Vancouver Sun recently wrote an article about a bunch of nasty comments posted about Obama’s daughter Malia on Free Republic:
“A typical street whore.” “A bunch of ghetto thugs.” “Ghetto street trash.” “Wonder when she will get her first abortion. “Could you imagine what world leaders must be thinking seeing this kind of street trash and that we paid for this kind of street ghetto trash to go over there?” wrote one commenter.

Those comments are pretty stupid. As much as I dislike Obama and his policies and his lack of honest with the public, and as much as I think he’s taking this country in the absolute wrong direction, his family doesn’t deserve comments like this. And such comments certainly aren’t productive, politically. People who might have been swayed by arguments focusing on Obama’s policies are just going to be turned off by such nonsense.
And besides, FreeRepublic.com isn’t alone in having comments like this. They happen at any blog with open comments liberal, conservative or otherwise. I’m sure I could troll through the comments at Daily Kos, for instance, and come up with no small amount of mean-spirited and hateful invective aimed at the Bush family, including the twins Jenna and Barbara. Cherry-picking a few threads of comments and using those comments to smear an entire website and/or group of people is a silly game serious political commentators should stop playing.

I am sure its just a coincidence that a guy who was at KOS advocating the planting of racist comments on conservative boards then came to FR and lo and behold found racist comments very quickly and that he was a “reporter”...

How many of their perceptions have been created by their own attempt to frame the story? How much is their own projection?
So.. it’s also worth nothing that this reporter, Mr. Parry, has actually advocated on Daily Kos for liberals to register on sites like FreeRepublic and post objectionable comments so that news reporters can report on them.

This reporter has a vendetta against FR! I have communicated with him privately and he is dead set against everything FR stands for! He watches this site like a weasel!

I know one thread on here yesterday was discussing the picture with Malia in her peace t-shirt. There were a lot of comments in that thread directed at the guy who was next to her in the picture and he looked like a bum. A lot of those comments went along the lines of what was said in your post above. I wonder if he is taking some of the comments directed at the bum next to her and attributing it to comments directed at her?

I didn’t see the original comments, but were the accounts recent signups? While a wide range of opinions are expressed on FR, it’s obvious that the most all of us would never make or condone comments such as these. Parry or his followers no doubt planted them to discredit the right and Free Republic, and I suspect this type of thing happens a lot in various forms. Good thing this guy was outed, though I won’t hold my breath for the MSM to give it any space.
As a reminder to your general public, Americans don’t do “taint of blood”, it’s in the Constitution.

I’m kind of curious about why the left doesn’t have anything to say about comments posted on the neonazi sites like stormfront.
Why pick out a handful of posts at FR when stormfront and others are probably nothing but racist comments?
Could it be that racism isn’t what the left is really concerned about but a valid threat to their grip on power from the mainstream right? Or is it that the neonazis and left have merged into one and are hoping that no one notices?
David Duke still has a webpage dedicated to Cindy Sheehan and its been up for several years now. I have yet to see even one story about that klansman supporting a far lefty. Stormfront was even encouraging members to send money to support Sheehan.

I find it interesting that Parry would take the time to do this. If he’s an obama supporter, he should know that his guy won. So what’s the point? Seems like he’s just trying to make a name for himself - in an odd way. I guess I should ask him.

Its actually a pretty typical liberal strategy to reach deep within themselves for some secret animus or sin and accuse conservatives of just such an animus or sin.
therefor whenever you hear such accusations from a particular liberal — its always helpful to track down their own comments on the same topic in a different context.

He got into it with a few Freepers on a thread about him....but stopped after he realized that he wasn’t dealing with what he believed to be “redneck, gun-toting, uneducated religious nuts”.
That’s one big weakness on the left -
they believe what they tell each other in their

They ranged from a few months to a few years old. Doubt they were plants unless long-term sleepers. But most of the statements I saw were really referring to the parents, as in how could America’s First family dress their children (and the cousin) that way on an Official International Mission? The Daily Mail (UK) published and captioned the pictures not us. Didn’t see any explicit racism unless you think that criticizing the way parents dress their children is racist. But we pulled the thread because there’s no need to copycat the Democrats, DailyKos, HuffPost, the MSM, et al, in their really overboard and offensive treatment of Sarah Palin and her children. They should back off or at least not whine about receiving the same. I have nothing but contempt for the Marxist hypocrites.
Don’t feel bad about getting the banhammer on IRC. That’s par for the course in those parts.
