The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday stopped the execution of a Virginia man while it considers whether to hear his argument that he was unconstitutionally tried twice for killing a 16-year-old girl after describing the crime in a taunting letter to a prosecutor.

this guy needs gutted I certainly agree with that. I also believe in the double jeopardy law, that a person can't be tried twice for the same crime.

Here's a
list of articles about the case. The court overturned the convictions and ordered a new trial. This was based on the idiotic argument that the form for the jury was unclear about the option for a life sentence. So, the jury is thought to be smart enough to pass judgment on a life sentence, but too stupid to read a form. Since a new trial was ordered, and the moron wrote a letter to the prosecutor that provided a written confession that reinstated the capital murder charge, it's not double jeopardy.

Does anyone know how many Justices it takes to issue a stay??? I cannot believe any of the conservatives on the court would have been a part of this stay. This is NOT double jeopardy. In addition, this piece of feces deserves everything he gets.
