Strong Grassroots Support For Palin’s SarahPAC
Congressional Quarterly ^ | 07/13/09 | Rachel Kapochunas

The political action committee associated with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin , SarahPAC, reported strong support from small donors in its mid-year report.

SarahPAC reported $733,000 in total receipts through June 30, of which $420,000 was “unitemized” or from donors who contributed $200 or less.

The PAC was established in January of this year with a stated goal of supporting Palin’s plans to improve the country as well as candidates who support her ideals.

Palin announced July 3 she will resign as governor later this month and left the door open to possible plans to seek the presidency in 2012.

Palin’s PAC totals put her on par with fellow potential 2012 candidates. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s PAC, Free and Strong America PAC, reported $404,000 raised in the first six months of this year for a total of $1.4 million raised.

SarahPAC’s totals did not include any money from political committees or PACs. SarahPAC reported $457,000 on hand.

Only two candidates received contributions from SarahPAC through June 30: Palin’s former running mate, John McCain , received $5,000; and Alaska Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski received $5,000. Murkowski on July 3 offered a harsh public criticism of Palin’s decision to resign. The donation to Murkowski was made June 7.

I 'm a Romney supporter personally, but I like Sarah, and can't say I wouldn't mind if ends up getting the nof in 12'. Gotta say though she hasn't been making wise donstions with that $ so far. McCain, and Murkowski. Murkowski even went out of her way to stab Sarah in the back after getting money from her PAC. I hope she does the decent thing and gives it back. If Murkowski doesn't think Sarah was good for Alaska, then Sarahis money shouldn't be good to her either, it's really disgraceful...

I think the small contribution to McCain is a token of gratitude. He after all picked her for Veep, and Palin is too classy to show disrespect.

BTW Murky backtracked on her idiot remarks on Palin’s resignation. Maybe she needs the 5 grands so badly.

I clicked on your “About” page and received a real Alaska Surprise...from Massachusetts!

Mitt is a very decent human being and a stellar executive. I do not understand why he couldn't get more traction in 2008, rants from many FReepers notwithstanding.

Sarah would also make a great president, and the only rants we'd have to worry about come from the left.

But, as you know, we are surrounded.

Face it Romney has been and is a Liberal. RonmeyCare has held true to it’s predictions, and is his signature as a member of the Left Wing of the Republican party

Wrong! We surround them. We must all get this into our heads if we intend to obliterate the evil that Liberalism and Progressivism has brought to our great country.

Every wing of both major political parties have accepted the premise that health insurance is a government responsibility. I don't accept that premise.

I said Romney was a decent man and a good executive.

I suppose it depends where you are has a lot to do with who you have surrounded.

Massachusetts has given you Teddy Kennedy since 1962.

Florida saved us from AlGore in 2000.

I'm surrounded; you are not.

I meant We, as a whole, Americans. I made a trip to Haverhill on business a few weeks ago. I also travel regularly to Conn. I know for what you speak and we dumb ole’ southern folks aren’t grinnin’ just because we have something between our teeth. :)

I'm sure there will be disruptors at work trying to discredit SarahPAC.

That's the tip of the iceberg. How did the(federal)government wind up being responsible for: unemployment insurance, farm subsidies, education, food stamps, ADC, prescription drugs, medical care, the list goes on and on. None of these "responsibilities" is mentioned in the Constitution, yet the government keeps adding more and more "give-aways" and then wonders where the money is going to come from.

If the government would stop stealing tax money and using if to buy votes from every interest group they can find, and instead use the tax dollars for those items that the money was meant to buy in the first place, things wouldn't be nearly so gloomy.

Because under the sheepskin, Romney is just another liberal wolf.
