The woman known as "Jane Roe" in the landmark Supreme Court abortion case Roe v. Wade was reportedly arrested today at Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor's Senate confirmation hearing.

Norma McCorvey is best known for her role in the 1973 court ruling that secured a woman's right to an abortion. Years after the pivotal case, McCorvey recanted her support for abortion rights and became an active anti-abortion demonstrator.

Good for Norma. Imagine the fawning and sympathetic 24/7 coverage this would get if it had been a pro-abortion protester who was similarly arrested (e.g. the wife of the murdered murderer abortionist Tiller)...

I haven’t forgotten that the democrats invited Klan Pink to things like the Bush State of the union address for the sole purpose of disrupting it.

Was she “targeted” to be arrested?? Was she being OVER rowdy?? Does Free Speech exist or have we all been driven to places like FR where we are “safe” from arrest...at least for now.

I’m going off on a tangent, here, nothing about the arrest, but about Sotomayor’s statement to the nomination committee yesterday. I submit that she purgered herself to get the seat.

She told the senators on the committee that she believes in strictly following the law. However, her rulings and her off-bench statements all belie that position. She is a noted judicial activist who believes in bringing things not associated with the law into the courtroom.

So, either she was lying then, or she was lying yesterday. Either way, she committed purgery and proved (again!) that she is unfit to sit on the SCOTUS!!

In fact isn't that why she has been overturned in higher courts, precisely because her rulings have been outside the law.

Great post! But please note: ‘perjured’ is the correct spelling for what Sotomayor did to herself.

Do they arrest the Code Pink protesters or just toss them out?

McCorvey allegedly interrupted Al Franken, by calling out that Sotomayor was “wrong about abortion.”

I submit that she purgered herself to get the seat.

Sotamayor was an involved and ardent supporter of various legal efforts including several Supreme Court briefs arguing for "unlimited" legal abortions for "any" reason throughout pregnancy and for taxpayer funding of abortions.

Sotamayor is a Formal Heretic of the Catholic religion and a dubious person, obviously. Of course, she is in like company in her professional field and most likely in her coming position as a Supreme Court Justice. There is not, nor has their been, a single Supreme Court justice who is willing to admit the personhood of unborn little boys and girls. She denies the dignity of the human person.

“Too late smart, but better late than never.”

Norma was USED in Roe v. Wade. I’ve always prayed that this is overturned because of the LIE that she admitted.
So many lives lost to a LIE. Norma’s conversion is a step in that direction.

Code Pink Lunatic Attacks Condoleezza Rice

Down the page, within another article with no link:

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino, referencing the incident and calling it “despicable,” said it “seems that, increasingly, Congress is being run by Code Pink.”

The anti-war group’s members are often arrested on Capitol Hill for disrupting congressional hearings and events.

I know and I agree. If it hadn’t been her, it would have been somebody else. She deserves to be commended and rewarded for what she is doing.

Truth is, a very tiny percentage of people know that Norma (Roe) had a conversion following that famous trial, and is now a powerful activist against abortion. A fact that the media kind of has a pact not to talk about. Still trying to use her and her case to trumpet the cause to keep abortion legal.
