Time to go back to the good old days in the Soviet Un....er, uh Russia when products in stores had cheap prices and didn't exist.

I actually make it a point each time I go to the store to get a few extra cans of canned food, plus a crate of bottled water and some “twinkie” food that can be stored almost indefinitely.

Been doing that for the last 6 months. But doing it slowly and steadily.

The eight keys to a sound Fascist economy:

1. Tax and regulate until the price is “too high”.

2. Put a price ceiling to “protect consumers”.

3. When a supplier is on the verge of going bankrupt and thus eliminate some goods from being offered, nationalize the supplier and subsidize it back to solvency.

4. When certain goods cannot be provided to sate the high demand at the low price, institute rationing.

5. When blackmarket goods spill out to sate unmet demand, clamp down on the movement of people, ramp up surveillance, and imprison perpetrators for tax fraud, selling illicit goods, violating health and safety regulations, violating labor laws, etc.

6. Blame all subsequent problems on residual capitalist influences, sabotage, Jews, illicit trade, and hoarders.

7. Shield the political leadership (including the “opposition”), armed and security services, civilian authorities, key intelligentsia, bureaucrats, and members of the state media from deprivation.

8. Make sure the civilians are unarmed and stay that way.

"Looking unimpressed, Putin moved on to the pork counter, where he railed against Koboladze for pork that sold for more than double the wholesale price.

Meat and Deli departments in the states markup products 50-65%. It's that overhead thing....

also, in Russia, there is VAT added on to the price of food. Last time I went shopping, the VAT was 18%!

WOW, can’t wait until we get THAT VAT thing here!!/s

That’s outrageous. Sounds like a number the young president can get behind.
