Seriously?
Proof of time travel. Artifacts that would otherwise be lost in The Singularity preserved...
VCRs had not yet been invented. :-)
Hang on here. It looks to me like the very first original stuff that made it to tape got erased, but that they made at least one copy of it before it got erased, and now they’ve digitally enhanced that copy.
I need to contact Comrade Kirk and Comrade Obama before I can release information. It may take a year or 2.Sorry,Comrade TT.
If you think that’s bad, you should read the story of what actually happened to the 1890 Federal Census.
Every generation has its share of inept government employees.
Now the moonbats can say the tapes are faked.
Folks, these people will soon be running our healthcare. Get used to it.
‘Sorry, sir, but we needed some extra space on the computer and we erased your medical file.’
They need to be stopped.
Did you read about how we all watched it as kids?
It was sent to Australia via radio, played on a big screen, filmed live (FROM THE SCREEN) on TV, rebroadcast to the US, played on a big screen, and played on live TV by a bunch of cameras aimed at the screen in Houston.
No compatable formats for broadcasts anywhere in the process.
So then the Australians said, well, that was fun, and junked the original tapes.
Government health care is going to be SO MUCH FUN.
LOL.
And people want this Gov’t to be in charge of their healthcare.
Sheesh.
I agree,these people can’t run a hot dog stand.
“VCRs had not yet been invented. :-)”
Ah but the tape wasn’t always in a cassette:
“Experimentation with magnetic tape recording of video signals began just post World-War II. Prototype machines were built in the early 1950s. The first practical, commercial broadcast quality video recorder was released by Ampex in 1956.”
“World’s First Broadcast via Videotape — CBS airing of the Douglas Edward and the News program on November 30, 1956, from New York. CBS Television City in Hollywood replayed the broadcast three hours after it was received on the West Coast.”

You meant to tell there is an excuse for something like this?.. The most talented people in the world probably and no one had the common sense of making sure, copies of all the tapes and data were made and place in a secure place for posterity?
So, you believe, NASA did not notice this little snafu until NOW? :) and if they did not, WHY?...
Sorry, they deserve to look stupid and careless, period
The Coast-to-Coast guy is probably already setting up wack-job Richard Hoagland for a July 20 all-night special.

You said — Proof of time travel. Artifacts that would otherwise be lost in The Singularity preserved...

Ummm..., the Temporal Accord has been violated. This is hugh and series... :-)
Here we go. This is like pouring gas onto the fire for those who believe the moon landing a hoax.
Please don’t ask me. I was in recruit training at Parris Island S.C. We were never told about it. Only later, after graduating, did we learn about Armstrong walking on the moon. And all the news clips I saw later came from Cronkite reports.
To erase the moon vids is inexcusable. How could they? These vids were of the most critical value in our lifetime. To have erased them defies the logic of the space time continuum. It’s an error of magnitudinal proportion. It’s a crime against humanity.
To save a few bucks? PULEAZE!
NASA was a pretty sharp operation back then, far better than the clown circus we have going on now. This story has a little smell to it.
One left-wing luddite group, the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space (known to detractors as Gnaw’n’pis), actually spells out that one its reasons for opposing private space development is that private space operations could eventually be literally beyond the reach of government regulators.
