They aren’t really fiscal conservatives. Compared to Barney Frank maybe but not compared to a decent Republican. Only 2 house rats dared to oppose the unions on card check for example. Only a small handful voted against porkulus.

Palin would have no business endorsing a socialist but socially conservative democrat (like John Murtha).

There are actually a lot more house rats that are pro-life and pro-normal marriage for example than show any signs of supporting limited government and the free market.

My friend, what kind of leverage does she have other than to offer to campaign for them? You mean to tell me that if a democrat is willing to do enough conservative things to be a moderate that she should offer him nothing as an incentive? That’s not how politics works. Improvement should be rewarded.

If they won’t do the right thing cause that’s what they believe in they’d do it because they are afraid their GOP-leaning districts could toss them out if they don’t. Those are the only 2 reasons. If their constituents make enough noise it could scare them into compliance. That’s what this thread is about. It’s not about Palin bribing them with promises of support. I don’t know why you even brought this up. What she suggested was that she would support any democrat who happened to be conservative not that she would bribe liberals into voting the right way.

Anyway that would be silly because no democrat is gonna do anything because Sarah Palin offers to campaign for them. They’d lose the primary if they accepted such an offer. And they all hate and fear her opposition to their messiah. PEOPLE who are conservatives who sometimes foolishly vote democrat may like Plain. Democrats in office hate and fear her.

Hypothetically she could offer NOT to campaign for their Republican opponents but that would be supremely unjust to those candidates and counterproductive and basically a bribe. I doubt she would do such a thing. Palin’s efforts should in electing good Republican candidates and I believe that they will be,

Helping the other party get elected is actually not how politics works.

If democrats remain in charge there will be no improvement of anything. (except hopefully GOP poll numbers as they continue to screw things up). These blue dogs (almost none of them are close to what we would called conservative in their voting records) are the ones who keep Pelosi in power, they shouldn’t be supported by conservatives for any reason in the general election.

The Congressional Switchboard number is easy to remember, it’s:

(877) S.O.B.-U-S.O.B.
[(877)762-8762]

Found on the New York Post website comments section!

LOL. Dennis Moore is listed as a blue dog. I don’t think he has ever voted different from Pelosi.

Dennis Moore, D-KS IS NOT a fiscal conservative. He voted for TARP, for cap n trade, and for the stimulus.

I emailed my congressman and got a canned reply. Basically he let me know people voted for change last fall and he will vote on healthcare according to the results of that election. Between the lines I read my opinion means nothing to him.

I understand the need to talk to these ‘bluedogs’, but it’s sort of sad that it came to this.

I called Jame Harmon’s office in CA. “Listen, our phones are very busy today and we are only taking calls from constituents.” I am in Florida. All the other bluedog dems took my calls.

Maybe my phrasing was simplistic [I prefer to talk that way], but in light of the pressure Pelosi is bringing down on them, I for one am glad that Sarah Palin has reached her hand out, offering Blue Dogs a leg up, with such divinely inspired timing.
