I remember when Rush used to brag about not taking time off and how he wouldn’t hire anybody concerned about vacation time. Give a guy a few billion and all of a sudden showing up every day isn’t so important anymore. And every time he takes time off, the next show is lame because it’s all about his golf. Good thing for Dennis.

Sorry not listening today, tired of second stringers filling in; RUSH just got done taking 9 days off (including weekends) and now he takes another Friday off so he can fly out on another another 3 day weekend jaunt.

The guy is taking too much time off, but what does he care, many will tune in anyway.

It may as well be called the "NOT Rush Limbaugh Show", or the "Rush Limbaugh Wanna Be Show".

It reminds me of the old Red Sox: For decades the original owners refuesd to ppend the money for quality players because, heck why bother, the suckers filled the stands any way, for DECADES and for decades the Red Sox LOST.

Rush had better wake up or he is going to lose his audience. We turn the RUSH Limbaugh show on to listen to RUSH, not some second-stringer making excuses for why RUSH isn't there.

I heard him say that too. And then I thought, Whoop-tee-doo. A whole 5-6 weeks without taking another vacation day. I notice he rarely talks about people taking pregnancy leaves, leaves for ill pets, etc. much anymore. He can't, can he? Yes, I'm po'ed. He adds insult to injury by giving us Mark Davis again!

Geez, give the guy a break. He’s been doing this for something like 20 years, 5 days a week, and takes a few weeks a year and a few days sprinkled in here and there. It has got to be a grind to have to be “on” for the show, day after day after day, even if you love what you are doing. I am amazed he is still doing it, even though financially, he would have no need to do anything the rest of his life. He clearly still has the passion, and I am glad that at this stage, in his late 50s, he takes enough time off to recharge the batteries so that he can keep doing his show another 5 or 10 years or until the Feds shut him down.

I refuse to tune in when Mark 'Sanford lyncher' Davis hosts ... for his sensationalism in Rush's seat, he lynched Sanford before any evidence was forthcoming. Glenn Beck is on replay at KFMB, AM, Sandiego, streaming over the Internet. Thanks Rush, I needed to listen to Glenn today anyway.

I listen to the first hour of Rush on AFN TV, so I get to watch the Fox anchorettes and listen to Rush. Trying to learn how to read lips. :)

I agree! I just am not wild about Mark Davis. :-) I’ve no gripes with Rush taking whatever time he wants. It’s his empire, he can run it as he see fits. I hope when I’m his age, I have the ability to recharge my batteries like Rush does, though I certainly wouldn’t choose golf as a means to do so. :)

I completely agree. I have no gripes that Rush takes the time off when he wants. He has said on the show he's so tired of listening to Obama, and I'm sure it's very draining and frustrating if not just plain maddening having to follow the antics of this marxist "messiah" and his thugs. Rush may need more time than ever before to recharge and stay positive. I find very little positive news, but I feel better having heard Rush talk about things. I can't imagine what he feels that he can't express.

So, not only do I not begrudge him taking all the time off he needs, I'm very glad he continues to do his show when he really doesn't need to do this at all.

We may need him to be here for us to keep us sane, but he really doesn't have to do it. So, I really hope people aren't emailing him and complaining he takes too much time off. He may just get PO'd enough and just stop because he doesn't feel appreciated, and at some point, it may not be worth it to him.

Mark Davis is on for 3 hours in Dallas right before Rush.

I don’t know why Rush uses him so much ... my guess is that he is readily available at all times with not much notice.

He spoke at a tea party I attended and was excellent. He also writes a good column for the Dallas morning News (they throw in a conservative column every few days).

But, I just cannot like the guy. He usually irritates me within 5 minutes.
