WASHINGTON — Unemployment topped 10 percent in 15 states and the District of Columbia last month, according to federal data released Friday. The rate in Michigan surpassed 15 percent, the first time any state hit that mark since 1984.

The Federal Reserve this week projected that the national unemployment rate, currently at a 26-year high of 9.5 percent, will pass 10 percent by the end of the year. Most Fed policymakers said it could take "five or six years" for the economy and the labor market to get back on a path of long-term health. To get there, consumers must return to a regular spending groove and housing prices need to start rising again.

I wish the unemployment rate in WAshington D.C. was a little higher - by say, 100 Senators and howevermany Representatives there are, plus the President and his staff.

Dream on.

I'd like to see a comparison of states and cities by unemployment rate and political philosophy of those in charge and how long they have been in charge.

Would not be surprising but could be enlightening

“I think they want the whole economy to utterly collapse.”

When the Congressional Budget Office itself flatly states the current level of spending is unsustainable, that certainly portends collapse.

Of the 15 states-10 went for Obama-
Michigan, California, Florida,
Illinois, Indiana, Nevada,
North Carolina, ,
Rhode Island, Ohio and Oregon.

Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Alabama voted for McCain.

Would any pollster dare ask the question-If you had it to do over again,
would you still vote for Obama ?

Doesn’t matter. Obama could reveal a national plan to have armed thugs ravish all families and the White House switchboard would be flooded with calls from leftists wanting to be first.
