Fred Thompson Show ^ | July 17, 2009 | Betsy McCaughey Interview

Posted on 07/17/2009 4:09:12 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

On Page 425 of Obama’s health care bill, the Federal Government will require EVERYONE who is on Social Security to undergo a counseling session every 5 years with the objective being that they will explain to them just how to end their own life earlier. Yes...They are going to push SUICIDE to cut medicare spending!!! And no, I am NOT SH—ing YOU! So those of you who voted for Obama have now put your own parents in dire straights...Congratulations!

Also, planned denial of medical care for seniors.

Why beat around the bush and just simply directly pray to God to destroy us? We are asking for it anyway. No country I know has ever passed legislation to actively encourage people to kill themselves.

After it becomes mandatory, do these dolts passing the bill think they will be exempt? Even ‘good party members in good standing’ will be forced because they crossed Zero in one way or another. And he will send them off because personalities like him need to destroy others before they destroy themselves.

“Mandatory? For at least one Church, mine, suicide is considered sacrilegious. For Jews, I believe, also. I don’t know about some of the others”

Mahometans (they hate being called that;) get 72 virgins, especially if they take some infidels with them!

“This is simply outrageous and an affront to morality and common decency.”
YES!!!! But America is in the hands of EVIL Communist freaks. Declare yourself an “enemy of the revolution!;)

>I READ the bill and while themandatory counseling every five years is there, and more often if you are “sick”, there is nothing on assisted suicide.
I do think we don’t fight a battle well with untruths.
I would not put this past them burt THERE IS NOTHING IN THE BILL ON ASSISTED SUICIDE.<

You better read it again then. You must have missed this.

>I agree there is no explicit reference to assisted but I feel the bill’s language may create an “opt in” requirement for life sustaining treatment.<

How much more explicit does it have to get?

Whoever said this is full of horse throw. Take a look at this, assuming it’s what’s being used for a source, and show me where it says anything about assisted suicide, let along pushing assisted suicide.

It would be wise to check the source before posting things like this. Otherwise, a persons credibility suffers.<

You have a different version apparently, and you didn;t read on to the next page.

page 426 sub e is quite explicit

“end of life services and support available” certainly is though!

“You have a different version apparently, and you didn;t read on to the next page.”

On the contrary, I read page 425, and many pages thereafter. Please take the trouble to read what you have provided to me. If you would be kind enough, please point out where this legislation pushes assisted suicide, or even mentions suicide. I certainly don’t see anything that supports suicide. In fact, it is not even mentioned. Did you quote the proper section? I’m not finding it. Are you confusing palliative care or hospice care with assisted suicide? As you are probably aware, they are certainly not the same thing.

I still see nothing in the sections of the law provided to me, that mention suicide. I could still be swayed, but what has been alleged (mention of suicide or suicide counseling) is simply not present in the bill. Sorry.

Is someone being mischievous by trying to put something over on you folks?

yes, I read them but to translate their radical views into legislation that is on the verge of passing is something I have never seen.

It isn’t there. THis is counseling on “end of life issues”,,medical powers of attnyyy, right to refuse treatment, hospice, palliative care.

It is already pretty standard,,everytime I go to hospital I have to refuse it.

It could be used to pressure seniors, to get them to refuse treaatment but they can and do already do that.

Some here consider hospice as “assisted suicide” and it may be but on the whole society has accepted the hospice premise.
