People forget State's Rights effectively ended when Woodrow Wilson rammed through the direct election of Senators.

The story of an election in Athens, Tennessee in 1946 is also instructive.

The direction that this country has taken began with Lincoln, but that is not the main issue. Regardless of whom started it, we are reaping the consequences. States have no rights except what the federal government and the Supreme Court says that they have. The Constitution has evolved from a republican constitution to a national constitution. People don't like to hear this, but America does not exist, not if you understand America from an ideological perspective. The principles of the Founding fathers no longer pertain to the United States of America.

Actually, States Rights essentially ended when Washington prosecuted a war against the Southern States under the leadership of a fellow named Lincoln. Ironic, isn’t it, that a war fought on the PRETEXT of ending SLAVERY, actually ended FREEDOM and enslaved us ALL, if not in the immediate sense, it has certainly eventuated this reality in our day...

This will go to the Supreme Court, which will tersely invoke
Raich, show
Stewart as an example, and tell Tennessee et al they can stuff their sovereignty where the sun don't shine.
FYI:
Raich: SCOTUS declared that any action which reduced demand in an illegal interstate market could be prohibited by the federal government - including a terminally ill old lady growing a few pot plants for her own use under doctor's supervision in CA (where doing so is legal). That, for most practical purposes, voids the 10th Amendment with no recourse.
Stewart: The 9th Circuit Court declared that a felon could manufacture his own machine guns for his own personal use (to wit: no legal means to buy/sell guns meant no interstate commerce involved); SCOTUS vacated the ruling with little comment beyond "see Raich".

I hope that Tennessee will sand a fully suited Swat Team over to their local BATF offices to deliver a response letter and get a signature receipt. The contents of the letter need only official names sender and sendee, letterhead, date and official seal. It need only be a short letter, dryly and succinctly stating Tennessee’s authority.
