President Bush Visits Yankee Stadium
YouTube ^ | U.S.A.

Posted on 07/18/2009 9:37:59 AM PDT by Sefton

If you need to recall what National Pride feels like, take a moment to view this video. Please keep the comments to the event of Oct. 30, 2001. (The MSM gave King Obama enough accolades over his 1st pitch already!)

Video of a great American moment!

If this is the video I am thinking of That guy was amazing!

Saunters up to the plate and confidently throws the ball, over the plate and into the catcher’s glove.

It’s like, It’s like, he played baseball before or owned a team and knew how to lay a ball into a glove.

Beautiful! Throws like a man.

An American Man.

That’s U.S. Male!

That is what an “American” President would do.

The video takes the time to set the stage for a great historical moment. Takes 4-1/2 minutes but its worth the time. At a time when many still wondered if it was too soon to “play ball” Bush united the Country.

And there will always be nothing but cheers whenever George W. Bush throws the first pitch, because of this day.

Great video, thanks for posting it.

I happened to be in the Bronx earlier that day for a court appearance across the street from The Stadium, and I can tell you the area was SWARMING with NYPD, FBI, SS, etc., hours before the game.

Those were the days, my friends! I’m also recalling W’s speech to the joint session of Congress. Such high hopes, we had.

I always wonder if the WOT just took it all out of him. Towards the end he just lost the will fight the political fights. I was never his biggest fan, but boy do I miss him.

With Bush, we had a MAN in the White House, as opposed to the current situation, a girly Man.

"I always wonder if the WOT just took it all out of him."

He was fine with the WOT. It was the MSM and the DNC that decided they had to cut him down. As the Country rallied around him, they began their plotting.

Unforgettable ... chills and tears ... I can never see it too much.

That is MY President, and will always be.

Another great video, that includes that incredible event and the character and fortitude of this indomitable leader we were so blessed to have, who kept us safe, against all odds, for nearly 8 years.

God bless him .. God protect and save us now.

Thanks for the ping. God bless President Bush. How this nation misses him, no matter what else - we would have a true LEADER in the White House with a first lady with class.

In my opinion .. in the BIG picture .. it’s foolish, completely bereft of perspective and priority. I wonder what dealing with all he had on his plate 24/7 for over 7 years after 9/11 without another attack, all we never knew, would’ve taken out of you or anyone else. It would’ve crippled a lesser, weaker human being and vain politician.

He did all he could, all that was humanly possible, focused on his prime duty of keeping us safe, and he succeeded, thank God, and he held onto his humanity and good will. It wasn’t luck. Honest historians will be kind.

I fear the current resident, who now deprives me of peaceful sleep about our security.

After watching the video, I have a new respect for Derek Jeter... giving advice to help Bush not blow it in front of a “tough crowd.”
For awhile after 9-11, we were all Americans first. Politics were non-existent.
