Debbie Schlussel versus Sarah Palin (multiple articles)
debbieschlussel.com | 2008-2009 | Debbie Schlussel

Posted on 07/18/2009 4:29:37 PM PDT by EveningStar

I'm not a regular reader of Debbie Schlussel nor am I a fan (she seems a bit low class at times), so I just became aware of her criticism of Governor Palin.

If you scan the archives of her site debbieschlussel.com you will see that she was an early supporter of Sarah Palin. That makes her criticism all the more interesting.

Here are ten articles from Debbie's site. In the first one, she is still a Palin supporter, but also criticizes her for her choice of baby names. Beginning with the second article, she really begins to tear into her.

Debbie is going to be pretty chagrined when Sarah becomes the 1st woman President of these United States.

Fact is, Sarah Palin initiated a brilliant flanking manuever against the left, the DNC, and the MSM (and throw the RINOs in there for good measure) that has them all in a frenzy wondering what her next move will be and how it will be perceived...and has them frothing at the mouth in their efforts to discredit her.

Sarah will now get her book out, go on tour, give speeches and promote conservatie principles all over this country in the midst of the Obama administration disaster and gain great political capital in the process. Then she will support conservative candidates in 2010 and help them win, amassing much more political capital. She will then take all of that and make an awesome, stunning run for the Presidency in 2012.

If the Palins took $$$ for the cover spread then shame on them. It’s bad enough that Bristol gets to be one of America’s most famous baby mommies. Are people soooooooo desperate for a leader that they will keep looking the other way on these people? So what if Sarah and the Palins are pro-life? Plenty of other people in America are too. Does that qualify them to be POTUS?

Anyone want to accuse Debbie Schlussel of being a RINO? Or does not drinking the Palin Kool-aid automatically make you one?

Flanking maneuvers always carry risks, but also the possibility of huge rewards. I think Sarah pulled a Sun Tzu and most people haven’t figured out what hit them.

Debbie Schlussel tried to run for several elective offices, and failed every single time. She’s in her 40’s unmarried, childless. Does that give you a hint as to why she is so bitter about Palin? Debbie’s a worthless piece of trash, and is one of the biggest PDS sufferers out there.

Palin had a lot of early support, Debbie was just going along for the ride. She fell for all the MSM BS, drank it all in, and never looked back, or engaged her brain. Whenever she wants to increase the traffic on her site, she lets loose with another blast at Palin, and her family.

So your way of defusing Schlussel’s criticisms of the Palin crew is to tear her apart? She’s a columnist commentator, not a person angling for the job of President and trying to collect votes from socially conservative people. If Palin wants to be the conservative standard bearer in America think she should walk what she talks?

This is why Palin is so powerful and feared. People whom we would normally listen to and read, we are now crossing off our lists because they find it necessary to go against Sarah Palin for no real reason other than the fact that she is a complete outsider. It’s remarkable. Palin embodies the antidote to our frustration with the same old insiders (Republican and Democrat) and the more they blast her the stronger her support becomes.

They didn't.

It’s bad enough that Bristol gets to be one of America’s most famous baby mommies.

Famous because liberal hypocrites highlight her plight to the world, and also famous because this is an ordinary circumstance in most middle-class families.

Are people soooooooo desperate for a leader that they will keep looking the other way on these people?

Sure, if you can find anything. If not, then move so I can continue looking desperately in her direction.

So what if Sarah and the Palins are pro-life?

Yeah, those stupid pro-lifers!

Plenty of other people in America are too.

Have they been or are currently running for elective office though?

Does that qualify them to be POTUS?

I'd take my Guitar-Hero playing at 3am next-door apt neighbor over the clowns in D.C. anyday.

You’re not allowed to publicly criticize a conservative hero.

Depends on the criticism being leveled. I don't have a problem with people pointing out some of her actual inadequacies, such as her populism and her as-of-yet to be identified stand on illegal immigration. But if you're just going to partake in Peggy Noonanesque criticism, then you have issues.

Our heroes are perfect. They do nothing wrong - it’s all the fault of the MSM and the RINOs.

It is the fault of the MSM and RINOs. When was the last time you heard a coherent advocate of conservatism since Reagan in Gov Palin?

So you have no issue with Palin’s lack of substance on issues

What lack of substance? Palin is conservative across the board on everything, and I'm confident she'll clarify her illegal immigration views and embrace laissez-faire economics more.

her inability to watch over what’s happening in her own family

That's not a negative, that's a positive. Heartland families can identify with that because they've been through it as well. It just means Palin is human and is going through the same issues people everyday are going through.

while chasing a career

She didn't "chase" anything bub. Besides, you oppose ordinary citizens running for office instead of careerist politicians?

her simplistic answers on policy, SCOTUS or a host of other items?

I'll take her simplistic, common-sense answers anyday over the detailed micromanaging crap spewed by egghead elitists that are destroying this nation now.

Kool-aid is a dangerous drink

Only if you don't put a full cup of sugar in it.

:

"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."

--  President Ronald Reagan

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""

--  President Ronald Reagan

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers, some of whom are currently working for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin's bid for the White House,
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide, now working for McCain-Palin.
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
He's in charge on November 5th.'"
The Prowler added: "Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."
The Romney supporters in the McCain campaign had access to internal polling which indicated well in advance of the November 4 election that McCain had no chance to win.
So they began working to position their man Mitt for a run in 2012. Just two days after the election,The Palmetto Scoop reported:
"One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
These aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
Erick Erickson, who organized Operation Leper, said:
"Here’s what I think: I think there are some staffers on the McCain campaign who seriously screwed up the roll out of Sarah Palin, to which Governor Palin herself objected.
These staffers are now out trying to finish her off thinking, as typical D.C. types do, that if they don’t do it to her, she’ll do it to them. They just never understood who Palin is or what she is about."
"Likewise, I do think there are some staffers and others who expect Mitt Romney to run again in 2012,
they decided McCain could not win, and decided to undermine Sarah Palin and her chances hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign? (Mark Wallace, Romney pimp)
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

“You’re not allowed to publicly criticize a conservative hero. Our heroes are perfect. They do nothing wrong - it’s all the fault of the MSM and the RINOs.”

As Alexander Solzhenitsin said, “Evil people always support each other; that is their main strength.”

Or, to put it another way, “No enemies to the left.”

This stragedy and policy has served the leftards well. It’s a corollary of the venerable family tradition of “not airing your dirty linen in public.”

The forces of evil protect their own at any cost. We throw any transgressors to the wolves, publicly, thereby setting Satan’s minions up to claim that Pubbies are corrupt, while demonrats are pure.

We should refrain from airing our dirty linen in public. If one of ours needs to be disciplined or punished, we should take care of it in private, away from prying eyes and malicious tongues.

There is a multitude of idiots out there who really think that the right is more corrupt, vastly less honorable and honest, than the Barney Fags, Nancy Lugosis, and Dingy Harry Reids of the world.

Astounding? Of course, but that’s why we call the demonrats the evil party and the pubbies the stupid party.

That’s right, she isn’t. Schlussel’s a fringe extremist.

Alliances between people from opposite ends of the political spectrum in order to defeat a common enemy in the center are nothing new. Witness:

David Duke and Cindy Sheehan against the Iraq war

Pat Buchanan and Lenora Fulani against Bush and Gore

Christian Coalition and NOW against bikini magazines

Chuck Baldwin/Bob Barr/Ron Paul and Ralph Nader/Cynthia McKinney against McCain and Obama

Nazis and Communists against the Weimar Republic (the Nazis got rid of the Communists once they were in power and didn’t need them anymore)

And now, Debbie Schlussel (far right) and Peggy Noonan (liberal RINO) against Sarah Palin (mainstream conservative).
