Jeez you build your house over a disused mineshaft, might be asking for trouble..

The missing people included a man and a couple, all believed to be aged in their 50s.Under ObamaCare, getting rid of a few extra "useless eaters" would be very good news, indeed.

I thought these houses were trying to escape Brit real estate taxes ;-)

Nope - The incident happened Nachterstedt, Germany, south of Berlin.

The roof tops allude to multi family dwellings. The house appears to have split in half consuming one. How did they ever build them there in the first place?

They may be missing, but I think I know where to look first.

I believe the early cliff dwellers suffered a similar fate.

Sorry, it’s late and been a loooong day with the grands, so I gotta say:
“Dude, Where’s My House”
and,
how much ya wanna bet some man is following his wife around one of those houses saying “Honey, have you seen my screwdriver?” (Which of course, all us wives know, really means “Stop everything you are doing and find my screwdriver!”

I am left wondering if that road to the left of the collapsed house had joined the winding road that ends near the bottom of the picture. That is a huge area to have collapsed if that is the case.

They used to be 570 yards from the edge of the lake at one point...
Here are the Google Earth coordinates for this unfortunate group of houses: (just copy and paste into the "Fly To:" box)

We heard a loud booming noise during a heavy thunderstorm;the noise turned out to have been the sound of several hundred square yards of hillside and county road dropping 50 to 60 .Evidently the creek had been silently undercutting there for years. There are areas of the world where the soil lies over “foamy” rock with hidden caves and sinkholes just waiting for the tremor that triggers a collapse.
