Jewish community's denial about Obama must stop
Jewish World Review ^ | July 20, 2009 | Anne Bayefsky

Posted on 07/20/2009 5:09:13 AM PDT by reaganaut1

President Barack Obama last Monday met for the first time with leaders of selected Jewish organizations and leaks from the meeting now make one thing very clear. The only free country in the Middle East no longer has a friend in the leader of the free world. Obama is the most hostile sitting American president in the history of the state of Israel.

This was the very first meeting with Jewish community's leaders. Earlier requests for an audience with major Jewish organizations had reportedly been ignored. Six months after taking office the president finally got around to issuing an invitation to stop the bleeding. Increasing numbers of Jews even among the overwhelming number who voted for Obama have been voicing serious concern about his real agenda.

...

The growing alarm in the Jewish community was also something the White House was bent on covering up. They refused to put the meeting on the President's public schedule until it was outed. The White House demanded strict confidentiality and issued a terse couple of lines that it occurred when it was all over.

WAKE UP! But there is no papering over the distressing reality that emerged. The president told his listeners that he preferred putting daylight between the United States and Israel. His reported justification: "there was no light between the US and Israeli positions for the last eight years, and no progress was made."

Evidently, unilateral disengagement from the Gaza Strip, 21 settlements and 9,000 residents counts for nothing. The Palestinian terrorist leadership and street have refused to accept a Jewish state for the past eight years (and the previous 53) because the United States did not add sufficiently to Israel's isolation.

HUH?
I knew Obam’s agenda from the day he started campaigning. What do they mean “real agenda” ? He has had the same agenda since he first started campaigning. Just another group of people that allowed stupity to cast their vote and are now becoming sorry for it.To late...

“Unfortunately, American Jews are liberal-leftist democrats first and foremost.”

The proof is in the pudding. Look at the founders of the ACLU.

The Democrat party isnt a political party, it is a political cult and the American Jew is a part of that cult. They drink the purple Kool-aid in spite of knowing it will kill them.

They have their new Golden Calf to worship.

What was the tone of JWR’s writings during the campaign? Do you remember?

I took a look at the JWR articles during October 08, and it was pretty much pro-McCain/anti-Obama

Unfortunately, American Jews are liberal-leftist democrats first and foremost.

Really? I am? I had no idea, but thanks for informing me that I am not only a "liberal-leftist democrat," but that I am one "first and foremost."

I had no idea that all those years of volunteering and contributing money to Republican candidates were wasted. But I shall no longer give my time, money and support to the Republicans! Thanks for making me aware of what I truly am and never knew!

JWR is politically moderately-right, which in the Jewish community makes them the “radical right wing fringe” of Jewish publications.

“Chicken Pellet Jews” is a good one, but I prefer “Oven Jews” - those too dumb to wake up and smell the ovens.

How the deeply, make that ‘profoundly’ impaired by socialism can continue to support those determined to kill them is beyond my comprehension.

A short trip through the scum on the Internet, from Obama’s Rev. Wright, to the anti-Semetic rants of ‘Calypso Louie’ (A.K.A Louis Farrakan), leaves little doubt as to the depths of hatred of Jews in the AMerican Black ‘community’.

My advice to Jews is “Wrap your self in the Second Amendment”.

I think he meant the vast majority of Jews not every single one, at least that is the way that everyone except you interpreted it.

Hoenlein was Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations for many years. Before the election he invited Palin to the anti-nutjob rally in NYC. Member organizations were furious and forced a disinvite.

Next thing Hoenlein is voted out as chairman and Lee Rosenberg, long time Obama supporter is Chairman.

Hoenlein has spoken up many times including at the meeting. Speaking up to the press gets you uninvited. Morton Klein of ZOA has spoken out to the press and they refused him an invite. He protested that treatment to no avail.

Obama is running a Soviet style machine controlling all access and press.

With this type of situation people have to get active not rely on leaders. Call/write to Congress and even Obama on all issues.

This Jew never drank the Kool Aid and doesn’t intend to start now. If my brethren won’t wake up, then as always, it’s up to those of us who have to do our best to survive the mess.

if you look at the headlines of JWR + McCain + Obama, you get a pretty good idea of which side JWR was on. They are the good guys.

Then he should have said what he allegedly meant. Maybe everyone else didn’t really care enough to actually read it.

You don't know what you are talking about. Hoenlein wasn't forced out of anything. His title has been "Executive Vice Chairman" for many years. He probably was influential in the Palin invite, but he also defended the rescission of that invitation, meekly I would admit, but he defended it.

American Jews are liberal-leftist democrats first and foremost.

We all read it, and assumed that he was addressing the close to 80% of Jews that vote democrat in every election.

Thank you for the link.

I should have noted it at the time I heard this, but the statistics were very dismal regarding the Jewish vote here in the US, while interestingly enough, the statistics on the vote of American Jews/other Americans with Dual citzenship in Israel were almost an exact ‘mirror’ image.

First drop the nasty. I believe we are on the same side.

Second I did mix up the names. It is Alan Solow who is now Chair of The Presidents Conference not Lee Rosenberg. Rosenberg is head of AIPAC now and he too is a big Obama cheerleader.

But make no mistakes Hoenlein has been replaced in title and in influence. Solow the Obama supporter is now in charge. And Hoenlein championed Palin he was just outgunned. Do you also blame Boehner, Cantor, Sesssions and Pence every time Obama/Pelosi/Reid win?

If you do blame Hoenlein, you are part of the problem. US Jews do not have so many leaders on the correct side, please don’t make the list smaller than it is.

...................

The Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations is one of the most reactionary power centers in the American Jewish community. Nominally representative of all American Jews, it has been run for decades by its executive director Malcolm Hoenlein, a rightwing activist —Llikud and Republican — full-throated backer of the occupation, and particularly of the settlers. He did everything he could to tip the Jewish community to McCain.

But he failed. Obama received 78% of the Jewish vote and suddenly Malcolm’s position is rather shaky. Who does he represent? A percentage of the 22% who voted for McCain — and not a large percentage either. Most of the 22% voted for McCain because they are Republicans not because they believed the lies circulated by Hoenlein’s friends about Obama being “bad fo the Jews.”

For Malcom, push had to come to shove. And now it has. A close Obama friend from Chicago, Alan Solow, is taking over the Presidents Conference. Hoenlein now works for a guy whose loyalty is to Barack Obama. In fact, that is why Solow is being elected.

What happens to Hoenlein now? Who knows? But the recent address he gave to the people of Iran indicates that he could have a future urging the Muslim masses to rise up and support Greater Israel. Check it out, its delightful.

And Alan Solow, an early Obama supporter, was recently elected chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.

O no kidding? That is somewhat surprising to me.

Why is that? It's a conservative Jewish opinion site. I came across it back in 1998, because it was linked to the Drudge Report website.
