With the public’s trust in his handling of health care tanking (50%-44% of Americans disapprove), the White House has launched a new phase of its strategy designed to pass Obamacare: all Obama, all the time. As part of that effort, Obama hosted a conference call with leftist bloggers urging them to pressure Congress to pass his health plan as soon as possible.
During the call, a blogger from Maine said he kept running into an Investors Business Daily article that claimed Section 102 of the House health legislation would outlaw private insurance. He asked: “Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?” President Obama replied: “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.” (quote begins at 17:10)
This is a truly disturbing admission by the President, especially considering that later in the call, Obama promises yet again: “If you have health insurance, and you like it, and you have a doctor that you like, then you can keep it. Period.” How can Obama keep making this promise if he is not familiar with the health legislation that is being written in Congress? Details matter....

Obama has no time for details ... his forte is making Grand Statements. To Obama the narcissist, details are for the little people who are inspired by his awe-inspiring self. To Obama the malignant narcissist, the world exists to conform itself to Obama's will.
The really interesting thing about this story though, is the question itself: He asked: “Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?”
Even though the questioner was almost certainly vetted and scheduled into the call, the question itself was clearly unscripted and unexpected. The caller is troubled, and Obama simply lied ... and you can bet that people noticed; especially that blogger.
Now place it into the context of Susan Estrich's column on Obamacare, and one begins to see what may be the start of a pattern.
"Does that mean that, should this bill end up on your desk, you will veto it, Mr. President?"
About twenty minutes of stammering and "uh" and "ah" and "look" and "it has been my position" later, the answer would be "No."

The way I read the excerpts that is accurate...
As long as the insurer offers that plan, at that price, in your town.
As long as it is part of your employer's package.
As long as it isn't in some way priced out of your reach.
Trick is, when (not if) that plan goes away for any reason...
Only the government package will be available because no new plans will be allowed.
No one has to lie when the definitions belong to them.

This is exactly correct. Thing is exactly that: "exactly". Period. Yes, you can keep the plan you have, the doctor you have, the insurer you have. BUT YOU CAN NEVER CHANGE IT TO ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT - unless, of course, you want ObamaCare.
I agree with you. He doesn’t even care what’s in much less know what’s in it. It’s all about demanding people do what he instructs. He demands a health care reform bill by a certain date, the Congress with comply or he’ll move to destroy those members that don’t obey his orders.

SEC. 102. PROTECTING THE CHOICE TO KEEP CURRENT COVERAGE.
(a) Grandfathered Health Insurance Coverage Defined- Subject to the succeeding provisions of this section, for purposes of establishing acceptable coverage under this division, the term `grandfathered health insurance coverage’ means individual health insurance coverage that is offered and in force and effect before the first day of Y1 if the following conditions are met:
(1) LIMITATION ON NEW ENROLLMENT-
(A) IN GENERAL- Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day of Y1.

Even this statement is a flat out lie. I have an HSA and the legisltation makes HSA’s illegal. On the day that it is passed, my policy becomes illegal and purchasing a new private policy is not allowed. The day that it is passed, I will lose my coverage.

I live in Maryland and am a Republican. I dont have a Representative. All i have is people who vote for whatever the Democrat party tells them to vote for, while earning their lucrative salary ,pension and medical benefits.

Apart from the reality (I guess we can’t always know bammy’s specific intent, even if we know his intent generally) - this is just a jaw dropping talking point - bammy doesn’t know what’s in his ‘landmark’ legislation...doh...the Homer Simpson approach to governing the USA...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?, should be our refrain to those reps and senators.
